Ever happen to you? Walk to the store room and suddenlyducks! This plucky little family wandered inside our store twice this morning. I'm not certain what they thought was so great about Byte Me Computers but about 5 minutes ago they safely traversed the avenue and are now well on their way to the lake. Thank you to the drivers who noticed and slowed down for them.

We're loving the hot and sunny weather but currently have a non functional air conditioning unit. Thanks for bearing with us as it tends to get a little uncomfortable inside the store during the afternoons. Hope to have it up and running soon.

For you vintage electronic fans out there, here is an interesting conversation piece we found at Mulvey Flea Market late last year. This is a Tektronix 524AD Cathode-Ray Oscilloscope. These were manufactured in Oregon between '52 and '54. It was specifically designed for maintenance and adjustment of television transmitter and studio equipment and sold for an original price of $1180USD (about $10,000 in today's dollars!). It weighs about 60lbs and has honest to goodness, vacuum tubes inside! We've no idea if it actually works or not but it sure looks cool.

The move is complete! We are back online and are ready to roll! We open tomorrow at 9AM at 1900 Saskatchewan Ave W. There are still a few renovations going on but nothing we can't work around.
Thanks to all our friends and family who helped us get in here over the last few days; moving stuff, installing cabinets, shoveling snow and making healthy meals to keep us all going. You made the move so much easier and considerably less stressful, we could not have accomplished this much without you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Relocation plans are proceeding as scheduled, the big day will be here before we know it. This Thursday at 5pm we will be closing up at 16 Saskatchewan Ave and re-opening Wednesday, February 1st at 1900 Saskatchewan Ave (old Chicken Chef). We're eager to get started in our new shop so bring your computer on down for a tuneup and see the range of products we have to offer.

We are receiving reports about users getting locked out of their Yahoo email accounts. Firstly if you hadn't heard, Yahoo had a serious security breach back in September, they didn't report it until December. The breach affected 1 billion users, so chances are if you have a Yahoo email address, it's been compromised.
Secondly, what Yahoo appears to be doing about it now is taking very serious action in requiring all potentially affected users to go through a password reset process. Here is a link below to the yahoo information page about what happened and what to do about it. If you scroll down, 5 questions from the bottom, you will find "how do I change my password" There you will find a link to a secure log-in page where you can begin the account recovery/password reset process with Yahoo.

New sign went up today! Our official first day in the new location is Feb 1, 2017. Until then you can still find us at 16 Saskatchewan Ave West, next door to Pure Footwear.
