As a Platinum member, I was initially upgraded to a one-bedroom suite. After we complained about the darkness of the one bedroom suite and some other issues, the duty manager upgraded us to a two-bedroom suite at the top floor. The suite is very bright with a good view of the city and sizable for a family. The suite has a kitchen area equipped with a hot plate, a fridge and a microwave. Two bedrooms can accommodate four people, and there is a living room and a balcony upstairs. The hotel is centrally located and only 100 meters from the Queen Victoria Market, the biggest and most famous one in Melbourne. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, though outsourced housekeeping services don't keep the hotel well.
There are some issues. The bed is not firm and pillows are too soft. The hot plate is convenient, but is so hot that can easily hurt people. Cookware are hot as well and there were no gloves. The water pressure of the shower is not big.
In general, our stay of 11 days was wonderful.
We found the room very quite and nice and clean. There were 2 small annoyances that I had when I was there but they were very minimal. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment and I feel that the cups are very small for tea and coffee and mugs would be more suitable. I went out and brought a cheap mug to use while I was there. There also needed to be some extra washing up liquid. It would be more economical to have it in a container rather than the satchels. When I asked for extra liquid there was no problems and it was brought to me immediately. The staff were all very pleasant and most professional. I would definitely stay there again. The Kitchen Restaurant was very good. Service and the menu were both great.
With priority check in and a very nice room, we departed for our evening engagement. Coming back around 10.30 pm, the bed was excellent, the room quiet and the black out curtains certainly did the trick. A great nights sleep followed. Although I am not a fan of stepping over the bath to have a shower - the bathroom was very clean and modern. Down for breakfast at 8 am - first priority -Coffee--- YUK the cooked breakfast was nothing spectacular at all, but it filled the void.
Speedy checkout followed - overall, we would certainly stay again - but we'd go out for breakfast and coffee.
The staff are always great, friendly and helpful. Especially the restaurant staff who are efficient, helpful and friendly ( Olivia in particular ).
Our concern this time round, and as you know we have stayed numerous times, is the fact that the level of cleanliness, especially in the corridors has slipped. We noticed the same piece of rubbish on the carpet of level 7 for the last 3 days that we stayed.
Other then that we love the location. Great for shopping and dining.
Easy check in and out. IBIS is great.
The Receptionist gave us a wonderful welcome on our arrival, she had a lovely smile and took time to greet us. Our room was clean and tidy and the view of the city was breathtaking. We love the IBIS hotel for its warmth and friendliness plus the good wine and food. An extra plus as the IBIS hotel is close to the shops!! My daughter (who resides in Perth WA) and I were able to spend some quality time together in your lovely hotel. Thanks from us both.
My first stay at this hotel was a pleasant surprise. It presented far better value than other hotels that I have stayed with nearby. I was particularly impressed with the pleasant and helpful staff at reception. The room was clean and well kept and comfortable and spacious. Restaurant facilities were also good and well priced. I will be staying at this hotel again.
Acceptably comfortable. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed linen were well done.
Negative points: air-conditioner was too difficult to adjust to warmer condition and took exceptionally long time to raise to required set temperature. Insufficient TV programs to suit my interests.
Staff were very nice but due to the lack of staff in the restaurant, service at times was very slow.
It was very hot overnight on the first night, the mattress topper retained a lot of heat but after removing it this improved. Also, there wasn't enough information on the best way to use the heating/cooling system but on inquiry the next day a staff member was very helpful. I was very tired for my work commitment on Monday.
SIMPLY marvelous. I cannot think of any better view than that of the southern bow. Having 🍳 beachside is not just a dream but a reality unless you enjoy poolside. You could drive to any scenic place and be happy. Of course being American all of it is exciting.
The manager on duty Josh Brodie was very welcoming and helpful, a thorough gentleman and very professional. Allowed us for an extra hour for check out!
Hotel is neat & clean with beautiful views of city. Will definitely come back and recommend this to friends.
Good work guys!
Pretty standard so far. Unfortunately got locked out of our room with limited help/interest from the service desk. The rooms are somewhat modern, but by good, what a terrible shower they have in the bathroom. Pillows are pretty lumpy but the sheets and mattress is pretty soft. Fridge provided is handy, and they offer a shuttle straight to the airport via skybus. Overall, fairly average, run of the mill hotel.
