The hotel is located within the CBD in Melbourne, and within easy walking distance of most attractions and many restaurants. The trams pass by just outside the front door if you want to go further afield. The rooms are large, clean and updated. The hotel's restaurant has a varied menu and is an excellent place to dine if you don't feel like heading out. The staff are very friendly and willing to offer advice on the many things to see and explore.

Updating this review to 2 stars from 5 stars I wrote just over a year ago.
We used to love going to the restaurant for the outstanding beef eye fillet
which is no longer on the menu recently. Instead a fatty gristly thin steak that I could not eat for $50.00, never again!response / report this review -

Great services, rooms are nice but if you get a room that faces the alley way near the carpark prepare to have a morning wake up. The windows in the room are old bay windows which means they are horrific at keeping noise out. It's a shame because everything else about this hotel is brilliant. If there's any recommendation to the hotel is to install double glazed windows.

Absolutely love this hotel.
We have stayed here twice and each time we are suitably impressed.
The staff are super friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, the beds are very comfortable and the breakfast in the morning is the best hotel breakfast we have had.
The complimentary T2 tea and Padre coffee are a nice touch, making your stay feel extra indulgent.
The room layouts themselves feel very spacious, with separate areas for seating, the bed and desk, and different lighting for each area.
This is our go to hotel in Melbourne and are never disappointed.response / report this review -

Well located, with many restaurants and other venues within a short walking distance. Staff were friendly and keen to assist. Room was large and comfortable with good facilities. Definitely a good place to stay in the CBD.response / report this review -

The hotel was comfortable and clean and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately the quality of the food was not what one would expect. The only carbohydrates that were available with the main course were fries! No pasta dishes, rice dishes or potatoes cooked any other way. There were other food issues therefore I would NOT stay there again.

Warned them three weeks in advance that a person with egg, nut and gluten allergies was coming to high tea which they promised they'd cater for. Paid extra then the usual price and all i got was a plate of basic sandwiches 20 minutes after everyone had started eating. And then a salad 30 minutes after everyone had started eating. Was sick for days after.

Really pleasant stay at a lesser known hotel. Location is excellent, room was really comfortable, the food excellent, and the people friendly & professional. Not more to ask for, frankly!
