This company is pathetic. Do not use them.
I have worked for over a decade in the customer service and travel industry and this company has the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. I have been trying to get answers on a booking I made since 26 August, when it was sales related, I replied a swift response but due to COVID, I unfortunately had to re-schedule/cancel. Since I required further information that was not sales related, I have received no response. After weeks of e-mails and calls, I was given another e-mail, they sent me a template response and have not responded to the multiple e-mails I have had with questions since. I am not one to normally write a negative review but I would hate for anybody to go through the frustrating and disappointing experience I have - Especially if they had hired a car with this awful company and needed urgent assistance on the road. Don't waste your money - Even if it does seem like a good deal at the time.
Rip off artists. Not worth the money. Charge you to reserve what you have booked???? Multiple add on charges. Vehicle was not roadworthy when we picked it up. Advertised as $300/day but works out at $600/day. Cheaper to hire a car and buy a tent outright. Also watch out for their park access fees, do not pay for these.
Terribly difficult business to deal with - overpriced campervans with many hidden fees make a seemingly good deal very expensive compared to other campervans.
Friendly staff, great facilities, good price + flexible return hours! 10/10 would definitely rent again!
The vans are in really poor quality, but we got a wicked van knowing that. Staff was pretty rude and our van leaked the entire time we were travelling (REALLY rainy conditions) but we had made amazing memories.
My partner and I rented the Nissan X-trail with tent for two weeks to drive up to Alice Springs via Oodnadatta Track. Some 5800km over two weeks.
What an adventure. The AWD was perfect for the job.
Very glad we got the Liab B insurance as we got two punctured tyres on the Oodnadatta Track (not uncommon as it is an outback unsealed road). When I first rented the vehicle I asked for an extra spare tyre with the car as the roads require that due to being unsealed, and Wicked was lovely enough to give me one without an extra charge. We were re-imbursed the cost of those two tyres within a week of dropping the car back.
The only other issue was the tear in the tent cover which allowed air into the top of the tent, we duck taped it together. The guy at the reception in West Melb was really lovely and said they have now since changed the covers as they noticed the original covers were not working as well as they had hoped.
Good experience with the camper, really simple nothing especial, but they takes two weeks to give your refound. Thats crazy
NEVER RENT ANY VAN FROM THIS COMPANY !!! . We BROKE DOWN in the desert of the Nullarbor, Australia, only 3 days after picking up our campervan. Their Road Assistance asked us to PAY for the MECHANICAL FEES (no jokes)!! Their customer service do not deal with complaint and the director of the company (John Webb) simply did not answered to our email. If you have any issue with them the entire company waits for you to go back to your home country without reimbursing you !!! So one of our relative had to take them to court (only possible in QLD) to get our money back !!!! It took up to 3 months but we WON !! They are absolutely dishonest, I have never seen that in my all life! BOYCOTT THEM BIG TIME !!!!
Don't waste your money. I had a two week booking and when I arrived in the country the day before picking up the camper they cancelled my booking without reason. See screenshot of cancellation email
Rented a car to go up to Brisbane. Paid $700 which is way more than what other car rental companies ask for. Was not informed that the car had previously been stolen and therefor had new locks without central locking. The aircon wasn't working properly either. Returned the car several days early as I wasn't happy with it but was refused any form of compensation for the inconvinience.
We booked our van pretty last minute and had a great experience. The staff were very helpful and the van was bright and comfortable. Perfect for a roadtrip adventure with friends.
Overall the experience was great. It was reasonably priced and the cars were in relatively good condition. Some cars have decor on them but for the price can't complain. The inside of our car was well maintained and was a pleasure to drive. The car had some tags on the inside which were somewhat amusing during the long car trips. Really enjoyed the service and would happily use Wicked campers again.
We had a nice road trip with our campervan. The van was running smoothly and we had no problems with it. Thank you wicked campers for an awesome time!
Picked up one of these bad boys for a trip out to the Murray River. Had a great experience. Super affordable, comfy van for the weekend. I'd certainly hire again.
I am disgusted at your use of sexist slogans on your vans. This is disgraceful, offensive, totally unacceptable. Grow up and set a higher standard for yourselves and the intellectual abilities of your clients.
Easy pickup in Melbourne. We drove the two seater van almost 3000km it was easy to drive with no issues. The van let us roam the coast freely, living life to the fullest and stopping when and where we needed. Cooking our own meals and resting when we were tired wicked campers allows us to do the trip we always wanted.
The people in Melbourne (and the Head Office) were really great at getting us what we needed. We drove some 2000km without any issues and the vehicle was solid. The trip was most enjoyable as the vehicle suited all our camping needs for the 4 day trip. Staff at the depot were helpful and efficient - a pleasant experience to say the least.
Booking our van was super easy with Wicked - they were kind enough to upgrade us to their newest model of van. We had a lovely trip up until the clutch cable snapped [manufacturing issue]. Liam on the road assistance line was super helpful in getting us able to drive the vehicle again however it was unfortunate that we weren't given a replacement van and no immediate measures were taken to assist us, so we had to cut our trip short. We were luckily able to have a friend pick us up from where we were camping and were able to return the van to the appropriate auto wreckers for repairs.
