Great value great service
Poor service unprofessional and overpriced good luck dealing with this business
I spoke to several people on the phone while trying to source a replacement turbo for a Golf. Everyone was extremely helpful but Carolynne went above and beyond. All the staff seem extremely knowledgeable and I received the part very quickly after ordering.
Very happy with the service, from the first time I spoke with Caroline, she is very knowledgeable. I had been to several mechanics who couldn't fix the problems with my pdf. I would highly recommend Bosch car service to anyone.
knowledgeable and helpful.maybe not the cheapest but cant have all three. Improved the patrols performance and sorted a few issues . will be back again
Carolynne was awesome
Genuine customer service and customer care shown
Great to deal with
Will go back again
In 2017 the factory turbo failed around 168,000km & replaced with OEM turbo. The EGR valve bypassed to extend life & ensure this does not repeat TOTAL COST $4143. Interesting actual turbo price $1460 & labour to remove/refit was $700 , yet total bill exceed this-final labour was over $1700! and the EGR was not cleaned or replaced at all just by-passed ! And the turbo failed just 60,000km later so you be the judge as I outline following when I took the car back July 2020.
1. July25 – noticed issue as no power and car will not rev past 3000rpm
2.July27– called Turbo Engineering & dropped off car. Explained symptoms & asked if the EGR may be causing issue since they blocked it. Carolyn replied “was it done electronically?”. I said “I don’t know, you recommend and did the work"
NOTE– bypass of the EGR valve recommended when turbo replaced 2017 after analysis showed EGR valve was culprit. They advised adjusting ECU setting so engine light will not come on due to this modification. Not sure why it as not changed if faulty.
3. July28– received call from Carolyn advising my turbo has failed turbo float was out by 1-2mm. Recommend for oil analysis by specialist to check for engine failure at cost “roughly $80-90 by a mob in Queensland”.Best case to ensure engine not damaged before considering next step. Carolyn advised they will do a blot test for $20 first & pending result will send sample to Queensland. I agreed to blot test first.Carolyn advised they will call me the next day since it will need to settle overnight
4.July 31 - Carolyn advised oil sample sent to Queensland ,I said no-one called me prior to discuss as I did not approve and no final price provided. Carolyn said it was necessary since they thought was good to check.
5. Aug 4 – I called to find result of oil test ,told no reply yet and it was very poor form that they too were not updated. I laughed and pointed out I had to continually call them too.
Aug 5 – called for updates, no information
Aug 7 – I called to find out oil test showed no engine damage. Cheapest option was to have 2nd hand turbo fitted. I asked for details and was advised will find out
Aug 14 – waited for 1 week , no calls, so I called up.Cheapest option 2nd hand turbo provided by a Nissan dealer and it had been organised. Turbo $600 plus labour to fit around $650. I asked to give me final price and was told will call me back After discussion with another mechanic for 2nd hand turbo with 60 day warranty for $450 , and labour of $450 decided best to retrieve car from Turbo engineering as they are overpriced.
Tues Aug 18 – I organized for tow truck& asked invoice for oil analysis, I was asked to let them know estimate pickup time and company name– called to let them know the company name and pickup between 2-4pm
Checked invoice bill is for $442 expecting between $100-150 for oil analysis and initial fault diagnosis. I called too to justify $442, Apparently they put in dyno , which was not approved. After turbo replaced by mechanic found issue was solenoid and whole thing could be fixed for under $200 since turbo appeared OK.After Covid restrictions eased I took the turbo to Garret that checked and advised boost arm modified & this is not recommended. Potentially causing the turbo float to be out. 2 x Nissan Dealers advised altering ECU or EGR not recommended as other complications can arise, and possible reason why I had no warning lights when solenoid failed. I will now pursue this with authorised organisations
They did a great job on my gu patrol ute. Couldn't of asked for more .they know what there doing in all diesel. They are trustworthy and will look after you couldn't asked for a better job. Thanks turbo engineering. Will not hesitate to come back cheers mick
Spent a lot of money very unhappy with the results I had to have another company re do most of the job. Ray made excuses about other reasons the motor wouldn’t perform well. He claimed the snorkel was restricting air flow after changing to a custom 4 inch snorkel with no difference it was found the silicon hoses on the intake side were sucking flat and restricted air flow as soon as it got hot. My other mechanic told me it should all have been steel or alloy fabrication, especially for what I was charged. I was going to go back to them but lost all faith in turbo engineering and Ray.
After reading some of the previous reviews I thought I should also share my similar experience with Ray and the team at Turbo engineering.
Just over 2 years ago I took my Hilix in as it had an engine light that would come on when towing under load.
Immediately Ray said the injectors needed replacing and that this would solve this issue. After replacing the injectors, the issue was still there when they ran it on the dyno.
Ray could not identify the issue any further. I picked the car up, hoping it would be somewhat better, only to find that on collection they had pulled out my DP Chip and put another brand diesel chip in the car without my approval for an additional $1600 on top of my $4500 bill. I requested that it be taken off immediately.
After driving the car for a few more weeks without any chip in the car I had no issues. After numerous time spent researching and asking other 4WD mechanics, everyone said the original symptoms were all related to the DP chip and never had anything to do with injectors.
So such a simple fix which no doubt they would have known given they pulled the chip out themselves, however I was charged for new injectors and additional labour.
I requested an email from Ray outlining all issues they found with the vehicle etc which I was promised. I asked for months for the email before I gave up.
Still 2 years later I am still burnt by spending so much money for nothing.
Very unprofessional, went ahead with the work without calling us then had the rudeness of saying where is the authorization that you did not not approve for the work to proceed, very over priced and threw parts at the car only to charge us extra, started of their diagnosis with injectors the week prior but still wasn't right and ended up replacing the pump, cleaned tank with fuel additive, new filter, still not right so they threw in some glow plugs and whoa its fixed but at no point did they communicate this with me even though the glow plugs are only one month old, no wonder they get negative reviews. Had to pay will be going to VCAT.
I heard from Ray and i must admit I think he is starting to realise that customers are his life and they need to embrace and listen to customers concerns I appreciate the partial refund and wish Turbo Engineering all the best.
Thank you Ray
DONT GO HERE THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THERE TALKING ABOUT WHEN YOU FIRST CALL THEM THEY ACT VERY NICE AND TELL YOU WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR THEN THEY START TO RIP YOU OFF SLOWLY. SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE OWNER RAY IS A CLOWN DOESN'T CARE ABOUT HIS CUSTOMERS ONLY $$$$$$
Took my hilux to get retuned after having a dump pipe fitted it lost 2.5psi they were told this.. they claimed my car had a boost leak but couldn't tell me where it was leaking other then it was over fueling must be a boost leak all in all I let them carry on with their games it went in there the first dyno run it had 66rwkw while down 2.5psi of boost after they tuned it the final result was 62kw and did not pick the boost back up i am a qualified diesel Mechanic they have no clue what they are doing and making false claims could go as far as saying it is theft do not go here ever!!!!
My patrol broke down 10 days later wasent happy took it to another mechanic
Great mechanics, I had serious issues with my forester turbo was stuffed with other sensor issues, very good service girls in the office are lovely. Even gave me a lift back to work because loan can was out. They went above and behind to explain and give me options for repairs.
All fixed car runs great now. Highly recommend
Crappy even in making an appointment. Didn't email or phone back, this on my first approach. A good website can be deceiving. Needless to say, no further contact.
Great Mechanics, and exceptional customer service.
I have always taken my cars here and they give you honest advice and service. Its hard to find mechanics you can trust these days but i will always use Turbo Engineering.
Disastrous
Had my HJ75 re built by them twice, then had it rebuilt by JPC.
Then claimed back money from there insurance.
Found Ray and his wife Carol to be deceitful and should not be in business.
Recommend anyday. These guys helped me out more than i could have hoped for 😊
Customer service politeness non existent, as well as work carried out having no attention to detail. Would not recommend anyone to these guys. really are a bunch of crooks like the other reviews state.
Piss poor!! Curtiousy, professionalism and good quality work goes a long way Turbo Engineering! They are the basics !
Don't even know how they're still in business!
Helpful but pricey.!
Best and by far most knowledgeable diesel tuners in Victoria. Highly recommend.
