Thrifty clearly state that $200 deposit will be required at pickup but when you turn up they tell you it's $500 if using debit card. No mention is made of this in the rental confirmation. When I react to this I'm told that "there's no need to be like that" after Thrifty put me into that situation. Absolutely no concept of customer experience from the customer's point of view, and a cumbersome complaints procedure which gives you the impression that they don't really want to hear the truth. Stay well away from this place.

Service was good but administration errors ruined the experience.
- Was charged extra $250 because someone else called to extend my rental.
- Tax Invoice was sent to myself and one other person, car was under my name only (Talk about breach of privacy!) and the only thing the person could tell me was that someone along the line, the other email address was added.

I recently recommended this place however after a change of ownership, the staffing levels have been dramatically reduced and the wait times are ridiculous. Last time I waited 30 minutes in a queue with 4 other groups while one staff member was unable to cope with high levels of paperwork. Not sure how long the poor girl will stick around.
Next time I will look around before renting with thrifty again.

Six months ago:
I just switched from Budget after getting poor service and have been really happy after finding Thrifty Richmond. All staff are super efficient and friendly, I do not have to queue or wait for my pick up and the prices are very reasonable.
