  A charming hotel. Though the decor was slightly dated, the hotel was very well maintained and clean. Staff was always ready to assist. Internet connection was a little choppy. The hotel's well-known spa was tricky to secure an appointment - called and left messages but no response. Recommend booking your spa appointment well in advanced thru reception to avoid disappointment.

  Great location and spacious rooms. Has gym and a great spa. The staff are amazing and attentive. Quite a nice base to come back to after a day of exploring. (This is an incentivised review)

  Best massage I've ever had! I came in with so many knots on my shoulders and left completely relaxed! Sharnee focused on the area and applied the exact amount of pressure I asked for! The staff is really friendly and the rooms smell amazing, definitely recommend!

  We have stayed here many times before. This time wehad a need to check in early. Without hesitation they said "come in". I feel the staff are empowered to provide excellent service. Food is good and spa is lovely. The rooms are comfortably appointed and the location is fantastic.

  Really enjoyed this hotel. Easy walking distance to many fine dining, and more casual wine bars etc. Easy access to excellent wine bars etc. and plenty of public transport very nearby. A great change to where we normally stay in the city.

  Spa review: absolutely amazing. Firstly they were unable to fit me in at my desired time but rang back when they had a cancellation. Tailored the treatment to suit me. I had the Algae Wrap with a mini facial. Cannot find fault at all. So relaxing I kept nodding off. Modesty maintained throughout, everything explained in detail. There was no rushing at all. I would definitely recommend and return.

  The Lyall is not a 5 star hotel. ! The rooms are dark and dingy. The towels and sheets are worn out. There is a noisy construction site next door that starts drilling at 730 am. The owner was unapologetic and abrupt. Would not stay again and would never recommend.

  - No views. Bathtub was small and grimey. Many parts of the room were broken/falling apart. There were two lemons and two crappy bruised green apples in the fruit bowl. No pool/spa. Overpriced for what we received.
  
  + Staff were friendly. Cute fire places in lobby areas of each floor.
