We bought two bikes here, and not only did we get great bikes, the after sales service was first rate too. Very happy customers. Thanks so much (and special thanks to Ruben for sorting out the pedals last Friday - great job).

Grate customer service. Everyone was extremely nice and willing to help. Was properly looked after and was able to fully test out bike before I bought it.

Terrible. Will never use the guys again. Plenty of other good LBS in the area.
    * 5 days to do a basic service
    * Failed to call me when it was ready
    * Didn't give me a quote when I put the bike in. I tried to check on their website for prices and the page is broken.
    * Failed to fix the bike properly - misaligned the disc brake alignment
    * Credit card machine broken
    * Unfriendly honcho on the till - all the charm of a Jo'Burg stand-over man / thug

Didn't stay for more than 5 minutes. My husband asked about a a particular bike and got a ride "nope". No other words spoken. He stared at us and it quickly became obvious he wasnt interested in assisting with alternatives. Go a few doors down to 99 where they are lovely and won't make you feel like a chump.

I bought a bike from MBC in April 2016 and was happy enough with the service, but after my most recent visit I won't be going back.

TLDR: The South African guy who works here is just plain rude.

When I arrived at the store I approached the counter, the guy behind lifted his head and snapped 'yes'. I told him that I wanted to buy a tyre and a few tubes and started asking for some advice around changing tyres.

He responded by complaining that everyone comes to the front counter (?!) and that he was with another customer. I said that was OK and told him that I was happy to wait. He told me not to worry, but he was still obviously peeved, so I told him again that I wasn't in a rush and was happy to wait.

I tried to have a conversation about the trouble I was having with tyres and he clearly thought I was an idiot (which is mostly true) and refused to expand on his explanation, snapping 'I can't make it any simpler!'.

His customer came back in after a ride and I offered (for the third time) to wait and he told me not to worry. I asked for some tubes and he came back with a Presta valve, begrudgingly he swapped it for a schrader - making it clear that he was peeved as he huffed and puffed.

I then asked for a tyre and he asked me what sort I wanted - I showed him a photo of what I had and asked what the options were, what the price range was and what the advantage of the more expensive ones were. He grunted something at me about the more expensive ones being 'better' so I asked what that meant. It was way too much trouble for him to explain why I might spend a few dollars more so I just chose the same as the one I had. In fact, I'm not sure that I really had a choice - he just grabbed one and told me to buy it.

The worst part was that after I paid for my purchase he shouted across the shop at me that his customer had just walked out and he had missed his sale - LIKE I HADN'T OFFERED THREE TIMES FOR HIM TO SERVE HER!!!

The guys at this shop are endlessly helpful. I rushed in this morning when something had jammed into my disc breaks and was helped out and respectfully explained different parts of my bike. Thank you! !

Originally purchased my hybrid there so have been back on three separate occasions recently to have servicing done. These were separate matters by the way.
I wish to say that I was very pleased with the service and attention I was given and the apparent work done. Information was explained to me and I feel the pricing was reasonable, the last matter re braking was fixed for free as well.
I certainly recommend this bike shop for bikes, gear and certainly servicing.
