  The staff are friendly and you have to pay up front before you get your order. They have only one barista on the counter so there is a wait for your drinks. I like to have my coffee along with my food and I had long finished it before it came. My toasted croissant with ham was over done and the ham had been burnt .I told the staff member who did not offer a apology or a refund .

  Choukette is my second home. The bread is like in France, the cake are delicious and they have some vegan option AND Almond milk ! A must go !

  As a French living in Melbourne it's hard to find croissants as good as the one in France. Merci Choukette for making some of the best croissants I ever eaten 💕

  After the inimitable La Paloma closed (yes, I shed I tear too), it took a little while to find a straightforward place where one could walk in, order a coffee, good reasonably priced lunchtime food and find a place to sit, read and think. I still love the simplicity and unpretentiousness of the La Paloma menu, but Choukette is doing a fine job of easing the transition to a post-La Paloma, post-truth world. I'm not a connoisseur of Melbourne patisseries but know enough to say that Ackland Street is overrated by comparison to Choukette, Sweet Evelyn (Union St) and the various other micro-p in the Moreland locality.

  Holy god these pies are good. Shame about the coffee. Its okay, but being Brunswick, not exactly starved for choice. 2 1/2 for me.
