Amazing service, incredible food. A totally worthwhile dining experience. It's a little out of town (relatively speaking) and Google Maps didn't accurately show the location, but it was so worth it. Highly recommended. You need to book!

Overall the food was underwhelming. Some items were bland and others too salty. Food is edible but leaves you full yet unsatisfied. Too expensive for what you get. Would not come back. Go to MoVida Next Door instead.
The Bomba were crispy on the outside and the capsicum purée was tasty but the chorizo filling was mushy and lacked any chorizo flavor.
The Lengua had tasty tongue but the slice of veg it was on didn't go well with the tongue. The sauce was bland and lacked seasoning.
The Habas had nice anchovies but the broad beans was bland and the almond purée was overly salty.
The Octopus was dish was disappointing. It's almost like somebody hid the salt. Not enough char, lack of seasoning.

The food is quite good. But totally disappointed by the service. The waiter actually picked up my coffee cup and smelled it to check what was in it. When I complained, he laughed and said it was a joke. He promised to get back with a scotch for me but never returned. The evening was already spoilt but they weren't satisfied with the harassment. They kicked us out even though we hadn't finished our food and drinks.They told us that the table is booked for other people.(Never informed us about it when we reserved the table).The place seems to be a rip off. The customer service is a joke to them.
Do not go there unless you wanna be cheated by the small portions in the name of the quality. and fine dining Much better places are waiting for you.response / report this review -

Possibly this, and the original Movida, are the best restaurants in Australia. The food is always delicious, absolutely mind-blowing. And the staff are outstanding: always attentive without being invasive, knowledgeable, and warm & friendly. Plus, surprisingly considering the quality on offer, it's not outrageously expensive. Very highly recommended.

My husband made a booking at Movida a few years ago for Valentine's Day. At the time he made the booking he let them know that I was vegetarian and their menu online had sufficient vegetarian options as well. We were confident that there would be some menu options suitable for me. The lady he spoke with confirmed that my dietary requirement had been noted.
When we finally showed up for dinner, we were seated and they gave us a 'Special Valentine's Day Menu'. Which was different to the menu online and had absolutely no vegetarian options on it. We asked the waitress what our options were and let her know that we had informed them of our dietary requirements. She just told us that it was Valentine's Day and that there was no way they could change the menu or make exceptions. She offered me olives and bread as the only thing I could eat for dinner.
It was beyond insulting and we got up and left immediately. It was the worst dining experience ever and the lack of compassion or understanding was just unbelievable. We will never go back.response / report this review -

Had dinner for 2 on a Tuesday night. The service was flawless, food was amazing and prices fair. The general atmosphere is quirky and charming. Everything came out promptly, honestly can't fault this place. The prices might be high for some, but you definitely get what you pay for.

Good Spanish fare in Melbourne. Fantastic staff with relaxed atmosphere. Loved that the sommelier refused to be called so and insisted on 'wine guy' or 'booze lover'!
