Table of 8 for a work function. Fantastic food. Lamb shoulder is absolutely beautiful. Waitress chose all out entrees at a table of 8 and everything was very good. Waitress was great and worked out to be about 120 per head which included a fair few beers so price very reasonable. Would definite go back.

Was great back in the day, but they have new management now since like November 2017, Jacked up the prices, quality of food as slipped. It's lost that feel transport had. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's just another restaurant now. This used to be my favorite pub, but now that I can't have my 10.50 pint with my 8 buck mini burger and chips, which was the reason why I went there so often, I'll be heading else where.

They’ve definitely improved their food here. It’s in the one of the most touristy parts of town so don’t come here expecting value for money. We ordered from the a la carte menu - fish, chicken and sides all tasty. The roasted/fried leeks were a bit of an odd addition to the fish as they lacked finesse compared to the rest of the dish. The mock tails were okay however alcohol was added to the watermelon drink we ordered, the unapologetic waiter apparently went to “check” but we never got an update. Water service a bit too slow. It’s pretentious as other reviews have stated, but nice views, mostly tasty food and desserts, so it’s worth it for a treat.

Front of house staff and chefs are all really friendly.
Food quality is consistently good and reasonably priced considering the Fed Square location.
The 'son in law' egg dish is my favourite 😉.

I had lunch with my girlfriends there today. We had great experience. Food was delicious, staff was very friendly, the place was bright and quiet- (it was Monday lunch time tho. ) highly recommended if you looking for yummy food with pleasant atmosphere.

Great Food and Fantastic Service!
We were a party of eight and we chose the set menu (one entree, one main, one dessert) which costed us $85.00 per head. The food was meticulously prepared with lots of attention to detail.
I ordered the pork entree which was somewhat of a caramelized pork set on top of chilli and calamari. The main was pink salmon which was beautiful and the others ordered chicken (not very nice) and duck (raving about this!)
Dessert took longer than usual, but was well presented, though I didn't much like the mint sorbet they served with my carrot cake.
Overall, a great dining experience located in the heart of the city with great views and a good ambiance!

Would highly recommend the 6 course meal with wine pairing. Well worth the money. The food and wine were both delicious and the wait staff were incredibly friendly and prompt.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Melbourne. Always great food and service. I took me girlfriend there for our first date and we went back tonight to celebrate our one year together. Couldn't have picked a better place to have it.

The Food was amazing! And it's in such a great location. We had the nachos that was on special and they were huge!! Such great value. We also had the Philly cheese steak and it was amazing!

We thought downstairs had a great vibe but after our meals we hobbled upstairs for a look around and it's amazing! The veiw and decor combined really make this venue something special

Food was good but not fantastic.
The worst part was the greeting we received from the pretentious, stuck up man who took us to our table. When we arrived we told him we had booked a table for 3, but there was now 4 people. The look on his face was one of disgust and his attitude was very condescending. Looked like he was a manager, or thought he was.
Ordered a kids fish and chips which was over priced and not kid friendly food.
My steak was cooked well but came with frozen McDonald's style fries.
Pretentious, stuck up food in a restaurant that's trying to be something it's not - disappointing and expensive

Haven't been back here for many years, I decided to book this place for my new year's Eve party. It started off very promising with a phone call to ask for the best seats in and was advised by the manager Simon that the marble bar was the best seat. The booking process was seamless. Upon arrival, we got seated, and this is where there is a lot of room for improvement.

The orders were taken and we waited for the meal. The first course came and the dish was presented with little explanation - I believe my previous experience was that the waiter much more passionate and explained what the dish was in-depth.

The second course was brought while we were finishing our first course and I ensured I inform the waitress to slow down with the dishes. Also for the second course, there was a mistake where they brought out a chicken fish instead of a fish dish that was ordered. The waitress came back and informed me I was right and that I had been served wrongly without an apology.

After which the service got worse with my cup of sparkling water not getting refilled in a timely manner.

And there was coffee or tea to finish which we were not served and had to get the attention of a waitress to place our order. Was very disappointed as the couple next to our had much better service. Either an oversight of our location as compared to others seated or inexperienced staff.

I would say that the food was a delight with all dishes being cooked well and presented well. And the view and comfort of the restaurant on New year's Eve was a delight. And the theme of masquerade with the photo booth setup and restaurant staff playing their part was exciting. However, the service will need improvement to make it a restaurant worth one's time.
