Hostel is fantastic, one of the best we stayed at. Lost of shared facilities, all of which are super clean. Staff are extra friendly and know more or less everything there is to do around the rocks. Extra shout-out to David and Tim on reception, excellent customer service and due a pay rise!

Great place to stay! I don't know where to start as there are so many gorgeous things to say about that hostel: First of all, you should go there because of the wonderful rooftop terrace - but you also have another terrace next to the kitchen where you can eat outside - the view at the skyline is great, especially at night. The hostel itself is modern and clean, the reception works efficiently and they even have a special deal for the Sydney Tower. The rooms contain an own shower room and a separated toilet; themself, they offer a lot of space and big lockers. I'd definitely come back! :)

    Amazing place!

It's difficult to praise this place for any one thing in particular. Everything about this place is good. The location is amazing, right near The Rock, looking over the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The hostel itself is amazing. The rooms are spacious and quite reasonable in terms of price, especially if you are in a group of 2-3 people. Sharing rooms are also available.

The meal options are also amazing, especially the breakfast menu. You can choose between, preset combinations or you can choose a DIY meal. So a lot of options available.

The fact that it is built on an archaeological dig site is even more amazing.

So I definitely recommend this place, if you are looking for different kind of experience during your vacation.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Also, in bed power and lights, plus in locker power too. We get to live on top of the Rocks, a very historic district where there once stood docks and working-class people homes. I love this hostel.

It is one of the best budget accommodations in Sydney.

Rooftop is definitely the star of the show here. Amazing views and great rooftop barbecue on regular weeknights. Building is more like a trendy hotel, with modern atrium in centre of the building and great architecture. Even has an archealogical ruin under the ground floor! Very cool.
Staff were helpful and knowledgeable. All round a great positive vibe in this hostel.

This is just what you'd expect of a reasonably new YHA, plus it's perched over an important archaeological site in the Rocks. Very handy to Circular Quay, the Harbour Bridge, and the Opera House, with fantastic views from the outdoor roof area.

Fantastic location and spacious facilities. I was in a 6-person dorm with a private washroom. Very competitive price with a spectacular rooftop terrace view! Staff are knowledgeable and host fun activities every night. I highly recommend for people of all ages and for families.

Only went for a few hours to meet up with a friend who was staying there a few nights. From the looks of what I saw it was already nicer then many I've seen globally. Plenty of fridges, ample lounge space and interesting architecture throughout!

Location, location, location. Double room with ensuite with panoramic views of Sydney Harbour and the Opera House. Pleasant helping staff, somewhere to veg out for a meal and free wifi in the lounge. Lovely to be surrounded by excited teenagers, youthful overseas backpackers and other grey nomads. Just a short walk to the city.

This place was excellent, was extremely close to the harbour and is a very nice installation overall. I stayed in a private room and it was very clean and well organized. You are able to see the Sydney Bridge and Opera House from the balcony of the YHA. This is a Hostel but it is far from a regular hostel layout. it is more like a hotel. I completely recommend this place it is a low cost alternative for the things around the area.

Big backpackers, well run, friendly clean and tidy, great view from the deck. Seem to be a lot of older people, and families with kids. There are a lot of mosquitos as there are no fly screens, and you can't control the AC from your room. You need to ask reception to operate it. Great location. I think it's the best hostel in Sydney.

This is a very well run hostel. The building itself is interestingly elevated on top of an archaeological site. The rooms are extremely clean, there is a laundry room and the staff is friendly and helpful. Do check out the roof as its location gives you a great view of the Sydney harbour. Great place to stay for visiting Sydney.
