This hotel is dated and beds are as old as my grandmother. The TV in my room did not work and the smell of the place was awful. With no AC, it left me to swelter through the night.

For the food the options were ok but limited. This building is in desperate need of a Reno and that's why I give it this rating.

The front desk manager who also is the hotel manager and payroll manager-- a woman-- has been working there for almost 20 years. You might wanna ask, how many staff under her have come and gone-- especially men? how long have they lasted? Why have the owners of the hotel allow for a hotel manager to stay so long? And is it possible for the hotel under one manager to be democratically and fairly staff managed?

If the answer is -no the hotel is not a democratic institution and staff are not treated fairly- then how do you expect for staff to reflect a passion for their work and do an excellent job of serving guests? One--especially a guest--can guess that if staff hate their boss and their job, but are forced to stay on as they have no other choice, the place is a horrible establishment to do business with.

Its just fair thinking.

We took a work group for dinner: the drinks and bar staff were fantastic! The food quality, the management staff and service were really , really BAD! We had steaks returned to be recooked 4 times, the manager and chef refused to fully cook 4 guests chicken dishes which were drastically undercooked and bleeding on the plates. The manager's attitude was not customer centric nor caring. Go upstairs for drinks , but stay away from the food and dining area!

Rooms were smell but tidy and clean. Motel had an overall clean and delightful atmosphere. Continental breakfast was great and felt very welcoming. Good value for money and great location in Richmond.

Easy access small hotel, parking , breakfast, small bar. Always clean and tidy, nice staff. In a word convienant and hassle free.

I have been very impressed with my interractions so far with Richmond Hotel. They have been prompt professional and helpful. Althought I have not yet there I have been so pleased with how helpful they've been that I am sure it'll be good.

The rooms are outdated but appeared clean. No a/c on a hot Melbourne day was a nightmare but there was a window with broken and weathered wooden panels for easy bug access. The shared bathrooms with no female sanitary bins left much to bed desired and there liquids around the bottom and on the seats of the toilet. Their breakfast was good but after paying $100 I'm sorry but definitely not worth it.

Excellent hotel, have stayed there many times. Very reasonable prices and a brilliant continental breakfast included. Close to trams and the city. Would recommend to everyone. Plus has a well stocked bar. You won't be disappointed. Popular with the country people and visitors for the AFL.
