On Entry a nurse came forward and examined and helped my husband, very nice obviously loves her job. 2nd Clerk (blonde hair) was miserable, no smile, no friendliness to any patients. How much does it cost to be nice?. We watched as she disinfected her counter after an African patient finish talking to her.
When my husband was called the
Male nurse (German accent) was really nice and young female dr also very nice.
However, a bin in first treatment/assessment area was spilling over with blood stained dressings.paper towels and gloves. A nurse washed and wiped her hands and threw the paper towel in the bin but , it missed as bin too full and she left it on the floor where there was also used surgical gloves on the floor. Very unhygienic especially for a hospital where they are treating patients.Nurses in the ward we were sent to with blue uniform were awful. No care, no eye contact. Acted like we were a pest just by being there and when I asked for glass of water for my husband after him being there for 2 hrs. A nurse said she would get it but didn’t bother. Another nurse in white uniform however was lovely and caring and she kindly got it . The blue uniform nurses rude not to even turn and look st you when to ask for assistance.
Disgusting and very sad to see such miserable female nurses not caring and with such a sour attitude. They shouldn’t do this job if they don’t like people.What a let down to the good ones.response / report this review -

Emergency room is absolutely atrocious some nights. Waited 3 hours in ED and found out they only had one doctor available! Husband drove me to SCGH ED and were seen to immediately.

My mum spent 2 days here recently after having an operation & reported that staff were very nice & caring & facilities were top notch. Nurse even waited outside entrance with her when I came to pick up. Very much appreciated guys !

I brought a friend to the emergency department at 9pm on Thursday 19/10/17. My friend was seen by dial a dr who advised her to attend hospital emergency asap as they suspected pressure on her brain. On arrival there was a 15 minute wait for triage. Despite being advised of the seriousness of presenting health issue by dial a dr, the admissions clerk recorded patient attending for a headache. After 3.5 hours at 12.30 am I had to advise triage that my friend's eye was twitching involuntarily and felt lightheaded, they called over a triage nurse to reassess. My friend was then taken through at 1.00 am. So incompetent

Stayed in one of there nicer wards with my own bathroom and toilet. The staff there where mostly polite and helpfull unfortunately they are just stretched to the limit and over worked. It makes me cross in these difficult times & with the most important infrastructures clearly been pushed to hard. Seems the government doesn't have any money to keep it going at a normal pace - sigh typical.

Walk in around 8:30pm with injured and infected corneal (the eye ball) after consulted 2 gps and after hour clinic on same day all strongly suggested to visit ED immediately or I might lost the sign! So I did, and left my 8 yos old kid at home with a friend.
After registered and been told the waiting time would around 2 hours, but I prepared for 4 hours in mind. Guess what! I waited Whole 6 hours for my eye! The ED room was full till all gone but me and another Asian lady who did walk in after me 3 hours later!
This is NoT a joke! Understand for short staff at all time in hospital but Do not understand one of 'behind the door' nurse's attitude! Hey I knew all jobs have it stressful time, as an eye injury patient I don't have to suck up your racist face! If you don't like the job just leave it!!
Can't imagine a beautiful country like Australia still has this kind of racist pig excist especially in the hospital that we all paid tax for!!!response / report this review -

Absolutely under staffed in the ED.
Inexperienced doctor/surgeons. Don't explain procedures properly or any explanations on what happens next. Dont really give you any options because of the lack of information doctors give out.
Won't be going back would rather take my chances somewhere else.response / report this review -

My 95 year old sister is in the hospital, hopefully going home soon. Had a chest infection and heart attack. The staff have been wonderful and very caring. Making sure everything is as it should be before she can go home. Two years ago they were just as good.

My husband had a full thickness tear repaired at JHC by Mr Lim from Joondalup Orthopedic Group. Hospital staff were professional & caring, and he even had his own ward room on the public system.

Joondalup Antenatal they are so stretched over capacity they are unable to provide the care that mums and bubs deserve. This is not just my personal opinion, but what I was told by one of the midwives in the maternity ward. She also told me I should have gone private if I want more care. I've heard that said a few times by staff in Joondalup and find it highly unprofessional.
Long wait times, up to 8 hours for a scheduled antenatal appointment which once you finally get in front of a doctor expect to be pushed out 5 mins later, being spoken to rudely by some staff who in their stress seem to have become hostile towards patients (there are also some lovely staff to be fair) waited 3 hours to have baby's heartbeat checked after a bad fall which required stitches, failing to diagnose complications which have since been picked up and treated by King Edward. Personally I not feel safe or supported to give birth here.response / report this review -

Don't confuse the ratings for the private hospital with emergency. The emergency is a joke. Save yourself several hours wait and get to see qualified doctors and specialists by driving to Sir Charles Gairdiner

Great, professional and caring staff! Was here with my daughter on the weekend and they all took amazing care of her! The new peds ward is amazing, honestly I thought I was in a hotel! Thanks to everyone who helped us through the ordeal! 🙏

Broke a toe years ago, so after waiting some days for the swelling to subside i was admitted to surgery. Fantastic i thought.
Slide from bed onto operating chair, place my arms down on the arm rest to find some red sticky substance from the last operation.
Yep dried blood from the previous operation. Lovely. Never been back since, would rather go to RPH than this mob of amateurs. This place has a history, avoid it if u can.response / report this review
