Great location and atmosphere. Staff are friendly and not the usual 5 Star hotel 'stuff attitide' I have stayed at this hotel over 30 times. There will be many more! Update August 2017: Sadly this hotel left the Hilton family and is now a Pan Pacific managed property. If you are a Hilton Honor's member then the Doubletree is your only option in Melbourne at this stage.

Stayed here many times and a fantastic experience overall. I always seem to find heavily discounted room rates online (various sites) which makes the stay even more pleasing. Great location, friendly staff and great amenities

Stayed in a king room overlooking the Yarra River and would have to say it would be one of the best views in Melbourne. Location of the hotel is great with many bars and restaurants only seconds away. Staff were fantastic and we were surprised with a complimentary bottle of champagne, as it was my wife's birthday.

Awesome views across the river of the city, situated amongst the tourism-friendly South Wharf restaurants, and always welcoming staff ..
This hotel is amongst the best Hilton hotels within this part of the world.
The expansive Yarra suites at the corner of the upper floors are highly recommended, and the privileges available for members on the executive floor are most worthwhile.response / report this review -

Excellent location and nice, clean rooms. Reasonable rates, helpful concierge. We stayed here for 2 nights and the room slept 4 comfortable (although having a queen and a twin instead of two queens was odd). The bathroom is nice but the doors don't lock and are not very opaque, so the bathrooms are not very private. Beautiful view. We walked most of Melbourne from this location.

Absolutely top-quality hotel. We stayed the night before catching the ferry to Tasmania. From the valet service to the bell staff to the desk staff, everyone was professional and friendly in a genuine way. The gentleman at the valet station went way out of his way to help me find a nice jogging route, even though it's not his job. Rooms are large and airy with great desks (perfect for us as we work while we travel), and large, spa-type baths. Restaurant has top-quality food and the coffee shop / bakery very quick and delicious. We had one issue with poor service in the restaurant but when we mentioned it later, the manager took it very seriously. Hilton now has new loyal customers. We joined their Honors program and returned on another trip. Same great experience. Well done Hilton Melbourne South Wharf!

Stayed overnight at the south wharf Hilton and received free upgrade to river view room. Awesome location and great room, especially like the large bathroom. Was only a quick visit so didn't get to try all the facilities but would definitely stay there again.

Loved the Hotel,and Location great, but for a very high end bed was a bit uncomfortable for me. Views Fantastic. The Staff great. Location for food again fantastic.

Stayed here for a week. Outstanding service. Always clean and tidy. The gym was basic but good enough to get a good work out. In room dining is by far the best I have had in any hotel.
