The Windsor is located in Spring St, Melbourne. Valet service for the car was a big plus and the staff were excellent overall. Afternoon tea was good and the breakfast great - very reminiscent of England. A very enjoyable visit.

High tea was excellent, delicious pastries and sandwiches. Excellent sparkling wine, and an array of tea choices. Scones were fluffy, and the service was perfect. Thanks for a lovely time.

We had a lovely stay for the night of our wedding. The staff made us feel very welcome with a complimentary bottle of champagne and a room upgrade. Pour stay exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be back.

This hotel is next to a lot of great restaurants and shops. It is a historic building with a lot of the original fixtures. If you are into modern hotels, this is not the hotel for you. But if you love historic building, hotel Windsor is perfect. The staff is very professional and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

We were booked in for a standard room for the night and upon arrival discovered that we had been upgraded to the King George V Suite. It was amazing a huge suite with far more space than we needed. Certainly one of the most luxurious stays we've ever had at a hotel. The decor is refined and elegant without being gaudy. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was fantastic with a great selection. The location is hard to beat. Down the Paris end of Melbourne with plenty of high end shopping and trams and Parliament train station pretty much at the door.

Love the traditional look of the hotel and been here a few times. Comfortable beds and well furnished rooms but there was a mould smell in my room and got an allergic reaction once from it. The hot buffet breakfast and dining room is divine.

Rang to book for our anniversary in March was told that the staff will ring back to confirm for March. Waited 4 hours no call so rang the Windsor to confirm. I was informed by staff answering the phone that they had 5 calls on hold and were very busy and I would have to email reservations for confirmation. I did not book through one of the booking sites, I did not go price hunting. If I wanted a cheaper price and poorer service I could have easily gone to a 2 star hotel where you get what you pay for. Very disappointed Windsor Hotel. I have noted your standards have dropped over the last couple of years which for such a flagship hotel is disappointing. Yes I am an annual customer.

Beautiful, classic Hotel - furnishings felt very opulent and grand. Staff incredibly helpful, check in and out was very smooth. Within walking distance of easy public transport options as well as restaurants, so location is quite convenient. Stay was comfortable and enjoyable.

A beautiful hotel, with decor, fittings and furnishings reflecting its age but in excellent condition. All the staff have been great. We have had two nights here and slept well both nights. Huge room, lovely bathroom with a full size bath and nice strong, hot, shower. Would definitely stay here again.

For the first time ever we were booked in for the night. This was a birthday treat for me from my partner and more than likely a once in a life time event - $550 for a standard inside room this isn't going to happen often! The hotel had been informed that it was my birthday and we were non-drinkers. The staff were warm and friendly and we were quickly checked in. Shortly after entering the room there was a knock on the door and a card and chocolate dessert were delivered. Wow! We are now at the high point of our visit.

The card unfortunately was addressed to my partner not me. I chuckled as these things happen. My partner less happy as she had informed them it was my birthday not hers.

After going out for dinner and returning at 9:30 my partner ordered two special pillows from their special pillow "menu". Apparently this is a thing the Windsor does. Fancy pillows, who knew?

Shortly after we received a phone call from my son who had become ill. We tried helping him over the phone for an hour and a half but at around 11:00pm deceived we would have to go home and help him more directly.

We checked out indicating why we were leaving early. We were quizzed about mini bar usage and my partner queried whether a discount might be available on a future visit. We were told a note would be place on our file.

Should I have expected anything more?

It would have been nice if the advertised pillows had turned up. They had an hour and a half and didn't appear. By 11:00 in normal circumstances I would have been asleep.

On check out I would have expected more concern. I was left feeling we were not believed. We were already upset because our special evening was ruined. Am I bring too sensitive?

Pretty sure I won't return. Certainly not a $550 experience. Not recommended. 3 stars only.
