It's nice and cozy, need improvement in bathroom. Staff ok. Overall good value for money.

I checked out and left my bags in the storage room, along with a box with some groceries. When I came back to get everything I found my food was gone and was told it had been thrown away because they're not meant to keep food in that room. There was a staff member present when I left my bags and he didn't mention this.
I understand there might be health & safety reasons for not keeping food there but I think throwing 50+ dollars worth of food in the bin is just not the right way to deal with this, especially when it was clearly labeled with my name and room number. The staff didn't seem to care too much about it.response / report this review -

Helpful staff, 24-hour reception, Industry bar with bingo & trivia & pool comps, wifi 7am-7pm, close to all amenities, locker room, tour & travel connections, precincts and public transport. It costs 49$ per night however they have deals if you ask. Take a padlock so you can lock up your valuables in cupboards provided in rooms. Wicked graffiti art out the back too. 😆

Absolutely love this place. The staff is overly kind, it's very clean, great music and entertainment every night. My bed was comfortable and the bathrooms and showers are all seperate and clean. Great vibe for backpackers, good atmosphere. Highly recommend it!!

Better than the bad reviews. This hostel is honestly pretty good. It's got a really sick bar downstairs with heaps of activities so you can meet everyone. The outside decking is also a really nice touch! Yeah the Kitchen is quite small, but they have food on in the bar and there's heaps of affordable restaurants around - plus the Queen Vic Market! The rooms are pretty good - it really depends on your room mates I reckon. I noticed over my stay the bathrooms were getting much better each day, so it's nice to know that the managers read reviews and keep on top of them! The staff were really friendly whenever I dealt with them too. All in all, my expectations were exceeded.

Great location walking distance to everything. Decent rooms ( air con would be nice on hot nights) good showers. Friendly staff really good manager and awesome bar. Would recommend to anyone!

Good location, about 5min walk from a city station and tram. Rooms are a hit or miss, the housekeepers do clean it pretty well but depending on who you're sharing the room with can be the difference between a tidy room and a complete trashed room on a daily basis. The beds are good, none squick. The service there is not great but not bad. Depending who's working the counter or bar. Some are great or sometimes you could be waiting 10 minutes at the bar or counter.
