Not a quite place to crash. People drink and have sex in the common areas and staff says they can't do anything about it. The washrooms are also not very clean..

Not a good experience. Good area as it is centre city closed to everything but the room we stayed is disgusting. We have 5 guys in there and all their shoes, dirty clothes and stuff are everywhere and smells feet, dirty clothes, sweat. It was a traumatic experience. We wanted to leave same day but we had a hard time getting another place to stay straight away so end-up staying there that night. I never tried backpackers hotel before, so that was completely new to me and didnt know what to expect. Don't get fooled by their cheap price and nice photos online it's not the same when you get there.
We regret it big time and moved to Ibis Hotel straight away the next morning. My advice is choose budget hotels like Ibis or go airbnb instead than backpackers. Some airbnb are same price and good to stay in. Airbnb was our 1st choice anyway, backpackers was just suggested to me by my friend so I thought to try it but I never thought that there are many backpackers out there in Sydney that have disgusting rooms, so be careful you all planning to go holiday in Sydney, choose wisely! Gudluck!

I liked the place very much but they don't have an elevator, u need to use the stairs. But lots of international travelers living and working in busy Sydney CBD. Good place, lots of fun loving people. Great backpackers.

Overall the place was nice and pretty good. Staff were friendly. The bedroom itself was messy, and the bed I was given was covered in food crumbs from the previous guest. I guess they didn't clean in-between guests?

Good enough for this price. Clean bathroom, quiet room, some free toasts for breakfast, super convenient location. Only thing I want to complaint is there are 4 floors but no one elevator.

Do not stay here unless you can tolerate being deposited to death, roaches climbing everywhere, waits for bathrooms, deposit of room key for cooking pots, pans, plates and bowls. The kitchen literally has bugs crawling all over the surfaces. Floors in the bathrooms are wet and dirty 24/7. The communal area smells of weed from 8am every morning. The free WiFi doesn't work good off & on.
I have stayed in hostels in 14 countries and this one is by far the worst. The hostel normal
common courtesy did not apply here. They have permanent residents living there. One was actually dealing marijuana out of the room.
The only air movement is by overheard fan and others would lower shades and block that.
Also common area and kitchen locked down 2230 to about 0800. So unable to get your drink during this time. So if you wake early it's stay in bed or leave the hostel.
    Beware.

Great location good staff but nothing exceptional for a hostel. Reception is not 24hr so careful when checking out early to get deposit back.

They were very friendly and the building was a beautiful Victorian style architect. Bathrooms are kinda private which is nice too.
