I can absolutely recommend this agency, and especially Sander, my personal trip advisor. I came in tonight, 10 minutes before closing the shop, but he was so nice to take his time and advised me in a great way and then directly booked all my trips, which took more than 2 hours, it got really late, but he finished everything. All thumbs up, great work and thank you.

Anyone thinking of booking a trip in Australia or elsewhere I would definitely recommend Backpackers World Travel because they really do care about your trips and ensuring they go to plan.
I recently booked a trip on the Ghan train through Backpackers World Travel. During the time of my booking BWT paid for the Ghan on my behalf and to cut a long story short, there was an admin error on the Ghan's behalf and the full amount was not taken from the account at the time of payment. When I reconfirmed my booking 2 days before the trip my place had been cancelled with the train being fully booked. I was put in contact with Ben from BWT Melbourne where I had originally made the booking and he immediately contacted the Ghan, whilst also talking me through other potential options of getting from Darwin to Adelaide. However, unfortunately none of the timeframes worked out and instead I would have to skip the middle and fly straight to Melbourne.
Even though there was no hope of getting on the train Ben still persisted in contacting Great Southern Rail and finally after 2 full days of back and forth managed to get me a spot back on the Ghan! There had [fortunately] been a last minute cancellation by someone occupying a twin cabin w/ ensuite, and even though I had only ordered a single cabin Ben managed to get me that spot with no extra expense.
I cannot thank Ben and the team at Peter Pans Darwin enough for how much hard work they put into getting this resolved. I finished my train journey a couple of days ago and had the most incredible and enjoyable three days travelling down the middle in style and am so glad I was able to do it. I am now looking forward to travelling up the East Coast knowing BWT have my back if anything goes wrong!response / report this review -

Amazing people who work at this store. Big Up to Ben, Anne and Taylor who Booked me an amazing trip . They all shared their stories and gave me the best tips and best deal in town! Thanks for the cupcake too, and Taylor has a great taste in music :D

I booked my all EC trip with them - Melbourne to Cairns. The staff is great, super friendly and helpful, they gave me a lot of advice and also great deals ! I spent 4 weeks amazing thanks to them, I wasn't stressed about my accommodations or my tours. Everything was really good, I definitively had an amazing trip ! I would definitely book with them again.

I booked all of my travel around the whole of Australia, New Zealand, and Asia with them and they were amazing!! They got me super cheap rates and gave me and my friend discount for booking together! There were 2 super lovely girls that helped me and they spent a lot of time with me trying to organise my East Coast Trip! They were very patient and friendly, and have contacted me throughout my travel to see how I have been getting on.
I would definitely book here again! I wish we had more places like this in the UK!response / report this review -

Pretty cool spot with good people and staff, free breakfast and wifi and a roofdeck. The not so great: they had blackout blinds so unless everyone wakes up at the same time you're blind to find anything, much less make it to breakfast in time, the rooms are stupid expensive for what they are, wifi is pretty slow and spotty, roof deck closes at midnight, the tour guide for the bar crawl takes you to bars with expensive drinks where her friends work instead of getting you deals. Fun but really expensive.

Tessa at BWT Sydney was extremely friendly and helpful while working with my partner and I to plan our Airlie Beach & Cairns vacation! Very thorough, and gave us awesome deals and discounts! I usually research & book everything myself, but by bundling our activities (diving live-aboard trip, skydiving, Whitsunday Island day trip, etc.) BWT was able to save us a bunch of money. Super grateful, being on a tight budget! Would definitely book with them again.

Never ever book bustickets with them as they are non-refundable. Even better, book nothing with them.

they will tell u whatever to sell you a Trip, they are not interested in Bettina a good deal for u. Do not book Hostels with them either. But of they had told the truth about the trip we booked it would have been okay, not overwhelming but okay. Drinks included means tap water for example
