I had a wonderful ride yesterday! My friends and I had an amazing time!:) I rode Dakota who was great fun! All the horses are gorgeous and well behaved. We definitely will be coming back!
Only issue we had was the first time we went there was we drove straight past as there is no sign or anything indicating that that is the place, so be careful of that if you choose to go riding here!
Big thanks to the team, absolutely loved riding here.
Had an awesome ride. Horses are perfectly behaved and lovely to ride just like I remembered. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the horses all look happy and healthy with a good weight even though its the middle of winter. Can't wait to go again.
Great place to go riding. Friendly, helpful staff.
Beautiful ride trail, the horses have a mind of their own. It's organised and workers are friendly. We had alot of fun and loved the horses.
Average experience when I booked I informed them we were amateur riders, no information was given over the phone, nor any weights or anything like that, simply a price.. and on arrival we were scoffed at for being in shorts! They should have mentioned that on the phone. The guides made continuous comments about us wearing shorts, but then finally gave both of us Chaps to wear to protect our legs which was nice of them, but then why all the fuss and comments? We were not invited to strap up the horse or brush them down before riding which I know is normal to create some sort of bond. The trail itself was good and we got to canter and gallop which was great. My partner's horse wouldn't budge the whole ride, but hey, that's horses for you, perhaps some introduction at the beginning may have changed that. All in all an pretty average operation on a good trail.
Great experience! 1st time riding a horse. I will come back here again when i visit melbourne again!
My friend and I attended this horse-riding trail just recently. I’m not one to write reviews or impose negative comments to peoples business but for this situation I feel strongly to do so. We arrived to the trail ride location where there were about 12-15 horses all in a small crammed yard standing in knee deep mud.
When some of the horses were being handed and lead it was by pulling and yanking at the bit not on a lose rein, when one horse didn’t listen to the guy, he hit the horse that hard on the rump it made the horse react to jump forward. Throughout our trail ride the horses were very well behaved but extremely tired. You could feel the ride was not enjoyable at all for them. The feeling I was getting from these horses were sad, tired, not understood and a feeling of unloved. Once back at the yard I had literally just got off my horse before the lady took her away, I didn’t even get to say thank-you nor even got the chance to untack her. She was simple chucked straight back in the muddy pen. When I asked “didn’t you want me to take her tack off?” she responded with “no, we have rides booked in all today”. No wonder why these horses are the way they are… broken.
This place had no love, no respect and no appreciation for these wonderful, intelligent and beautiful animals. I’ve grown up around horses and ridden them my whole life and to see these horses treated like this broke my heart. I hope this review gives you some insight into what you’ll be supporting if you go ahead and book a trail ride with this company. It’s taught me to do my research more thoroughly before booking another trail ride again.
Great staff and the horses we rode were brilliant.
Can't wait to go again. Lovely scenery in the foot hills of the Dandenong Ranges.
My 12 year old daughter's dream was to ride a horse so I booked her in for a one hour trial ride.
She couldn't stop smiling the whole time and truly loved riding Ruby who was so gentle and quiet.
Everyone who works there, were very helpful which made my daughter's trail riding experience a wonderful memory.
She's going again and can't wait.
Thank-you to Mr.Smallacombe and team for making this a positive happy time for my daughter.
A dream come true!
