Helped out when Atlas our scheduled company didn't show up. Good rates and easy to deal with. Mainly hyundai small to medium cars available with Mitsubishi SUVs as well.

We rented a car from Apex at Cairns airport for a week. The car was like brand new and the rate was very low indeed! The office team and the shuttle bus driver were very nice. Thank you Apex for adding to what was a great holiday in the tropics.

Really good and fair rates. Transfers to and from airport were not too long but expect extra time to do this if you want a good rate. Nice clean low milage car. Great economy. No issues at all. All stars deserved!

I picked one star because it would not accept zero rating. Landed in Cairns a few minutes before their office closed "5.00"pm No car, only a rude women on the night phone that had a go at me for having my phone off on my flights. Apex re-scheduled my booking for 8.00am next day!!! They knew I was of to Port Douglas so I cannot understand why they even bothered. Simple pay a little more but get a far better service, I booked a Thrifty car. I will make sure my staff do not use Apex on any business related trip again.
In response to your reply you mention I should have notified you about my flight running late but I find that difficult to do at 40,000 feet in the air. Further more our flight landed only a few minutes past your closing time. We had a booking number and you had our credit card details so I find it sad that Apex car rentals could not accommodate our booking by waiting 10 minutes past their closing time to service their client. Once again let me reiterate that given the chance i would give you a zero star rating beware to all prespective clients.response / report this review -

Good prices. Terrible return procedure. It took over 45 min of waiting before we could return car and get on shuttle to the airport. The plane is not going to wait for you Apex.

We rented our vehicle online for 30 days. The website was great and the process simple and straightforward. Rental price was extremely competitive.
The experience just got better from there. The vehicle was parked ready for us at the airport because we landed outside office hours.
Vehicle was less than 2 years old, in good repair, clean and perfect for our purposes.
There's a specific region you have to stay within, but for us that was no problem, but check if you want to go West of Atherton or North of Cooktown.
Would rent again and we visited the office to tell them so.

Close to the airport. Well organised shuttle bus service with minimal delay. A bit of a pain to have to pick up the vehicle away from the airport but the great rates made up for it. Staff could have been friendlier. Car was great. Well maintained and clean when we picked it up and reliable for the two weeks we had it.

What an absolute joy to experience 100% hassle-free car rental (23-28 July 2017). No hidden extras or conditions, charged as per on-line quote. Efficient pick up and return, and friendly, helpful staff. Added bonus of a free shuttle bus service by Apex to the Airport.

He had a long term rental car with apexsnd returned it in Cairns. We had no problems whatsoever with the car. The car had a few scratches, dents and 130k KM, but i fidn't care since they're the cheapest around (and no extra fees). Upon return however we were greeted by a lady with a simple "Keys!" after telling them we want to return a car. Other than that we were asked by four (!) employees how they can help us while we waited for the lady getting our car to come back.

I'm actually fuming. The service is terrible!!!
When we started our holiday in Cairns I thought this service was fine: friendly, quick and easy, and a car in good condition.
This morning though was a completely different story.
My fiance and I arrived at Apex at 7:45 in the (rainy) morning, apparently 15 minutes before opening time. I was still getting stuff out the car when Luke comes back saying that we aren't allowed inside because we're early, but we're allowed to keep our bags inside because it's raining. I'm pretty annoyed but fine whatever, might as well get our bags back and wait in the car.
As I'm walking to the door a worker named Adam rushed over to LOCK the door on me. When I get there I knocked and pointed to my bags, indicating I wanted them. He just makes a signal to wait until 8 (aka 15m) and refuses to make eye contact after that.
My fiance and I are left standing under tiny cover in the rain holding our five month old baby girl and other stuff needing to go in our bags!!!!!
Now I get that we were there early (not that we knew that at the time), and clearly they have a policy to open up at 8. But take into consideration the context!!! We aren't a group of rowdy teenagers, we're 2 young adults with a baby and its raining outside!! We're not expecting early service, all we wanted was a seat out the rain!!
When I confronted Adam and Laurie about this, Adam became completely unprofessional and likened the situation to "barging into a friend's house early" and that we should have waited in the car
FIRST OF ALL if my friend made me wait outside in the rain because I'm 15m early, we would not be friends anymore!
Second of all, they locked our bags inside!!! What kind of crazy person locks someones bags, at least let us get them back?! There's not a chance in hell I'm leaving my phone, wallet, and ID for 15m with this guy?!
For the record, I'm not claiming they did something outside of policy (other than holding our bags hostage). But I do think it is absolutely ridiculous to make someone wait for such a short amount of time outside when we could have quietly sat in the corner inside - anyone with children knows a 5 month old does actually get heavy!
Is waiting for 8am on the dot really that much more important than being a decent person? Also want to make clear that Laurie was much more professional - Adam should get fired.
Bottom line: if you don't care about service, go ahead and rent their cars. But if you're someone who values a company that goes that little bit extra for it's customers, DO NOT GO TO APEX CAIRNS.response / report this review -

Had a very good experience with Apex car rentals in cairns.from the time they picked us up from the airport and when I returned the car back.from the driver who picked us up to the front desk staff .they were all very helpful and friendly. I would recommend anyone to hire a car from Apex car rentals. They car were clean and very enjoyable to drive.so once again thanks for Apex car rentals for such a great service thanks.

No hassle. Great rates. Great car.
We had after hours pick up at Cairns airport. All instructions they provided were spot on and easy to follow. Car was immaculate, full of fuel and ready to go. Drop off was just as easy. Dropped the car at the depot, the attendant checked the car over and the shuttle transported us to the airport.
