I had to apply for a visitor visa, on the website it's written 4 working days, however, it's been more than 9 days now and i still didn't get the asnwer. I'm calling daily, the operator was extremely disrespectful telling me that I am cutting of when I said I will wait politely om the line to talk to the lady in charge with the answer of the visa. The lady working as operator refused to give me her name, of course. Overall it's a very disappointing experience. For the ones of you which need to apply for a visitor visa I strongly suggest to apply from one month before as the process it's very long and don't make any arrangement towards it. I just lost now the deposit money for the hotel as the cancelation now will cost me, not to say the plane tickets and what so ever. Just if you are planning on visiting it, take a whole month before u so do. Very very disappointing experience!!!
The correct location of the embassy is villa 151. It is on the corner on the street that is parallel to the street that your GPS would tell you that you are on.
Absolutely shocking how terribly organised this place is. No queue system which allows anyone to blatantly push others aside and demand to be serviced. Even worse in a country where the local customs see this as acceptable behaviour. Get organised and get a queue system. Pathetic.
Pathetic to say the least. I've been phoning for two months now. No one ever answers the phone. Fillipino there is VERY unprofessional and can't speak proper English. What's to say understanding what you want. Bad business for South Africa
Wrong address on GoogleMap. Two days i lost finding embassy. One philipina is very rude. First the open door but later on they did not even bother to listen. Other lady on reception is Good and cooeprative. Visa process is very simple. One window operation. Usually it took 5 days for visa but for me they took 14 days.
Very friendly staff especially when dealing with Ms.Michelene who was exceptionally helpful
The service is actually worse than in South Africa!!! Is that even possible? Nobody answers the phone And when you get there it's a dodgy little office with no structure - very disappointing!!!
Firstly, the villa number on Google is incorrect and google maps takes you to the incorrect place as well. So it's a guessing game and the flag on he building is flipped and worn so it's not obvious - I had to come here twice because the first time I couldn't find it and gave up!
Now as for my experience I got there before it opened, I was the first person there. When they opened it was just myself and one couple. I told the lady at the desk that I simply need something signed by a commissioner of oath and that it has to do with my fathers death. She told me to wait. I waited. and waited many people came and left so eventually I went back up to the desk (trying the other lady this time) and I asked how long it will be to see the commissioner of oath. She told me that the commissioner of oath hadn't arrived yet!!! This person was over an hour late to work. So I waited some more. I am a very patient person and didn't mind watching the people come and go but eventually I was almost falling asleep and was wondering if the place will close for the day and I'll still be sitting there. So I went back up to the desk and asked if the commissioner of oath had arrived yet. I was told that she had in face arrived but didn't want to see anyone yet. At this point I really felt I was waiting for an appointment with the queen. So, I just waited some more and the ladies at the counters were looking at me as if they felt bad but could do nothing, as the queen would do as she pleases and they dare not tell her to hurry. Finally when the commissioner of oath decided to come out and do her job, she did not even watch me fill out the small form I had to fill (she was supposed to see that it was indeed myself filling it out) and she just told me to go fill it out on my own (which took 1 minute) and then she signed carelessly without checking anything and she it was time to stamp the form, she had lost the stamp. She ordered the receptionists around like servants to find her stamp for her. Zero respect. Zero care. Zero service and an absolute sense of entitlement. How is this lady employed?
I was actually quite disappointed and extremely frustrated about the service as well as how I was treated. The internet states very clearly that the working hours are from 8am-4pm. I was at the embassy literally a minute before 12:30. A Phillapino lady answered the machine and was very rude and refused to let me in, saying they were closed at 12:30. She couldn't even answer a simple question that I needed information on. I had been phoning the embassy for the past hour before reaching the embassy and no one answered. Hence why I went there. I don't understand why an earth they hire employees who are not even South African to work at a South African Embassy.
