A very nice place to hang out and feel the warm or chill breeze depending on the weather the food is prepared nicely and appetizing even before you take a bite its a nice quiet gateway right in the middle of town

I have such mixed emotions when it comes to this restaurant.. the only thing that i really love is the outside seating area between trees..
Everything else is well below par.. the waiters are slow, I even had to send glasses back, it was old with white flakes inside.. i noticed smoothies being served in beer glasses.. my order was incorrect a few times.. twice we had to get up to go get our bill. I think management might just be too relaxed with their staff.. the venue is perfect but the actual restuarant is not even close.. not sure why I keep on going back.. great coffee

The setting of the restaurant is modern amidst greenery which made it a great place to chill and have a drink. We ordered the Malay platter and a Greek salad. The salad was average but the platter was quite good. Mostly deep fried food though. I would give it 5 out of 5 for ambience but the food is just average.

I decided to email the restaurant directly about my experiences on the 12th, but they have not responded. Poor service. Rude waiters. Rude manager too. Below average food. But the thing that annoyed me the most was being refused tap water, because they "could not guarantee that it was safe to drink". We bought our bottled water, only to have it arrive with glasses filled to the brim with ice. Ice made with municipal water! An absolute rip off and we won't be going back.

Waited forever to get served. When I was finally seated, I asked to be moved to a more comfortable table and the waiter said they will ask the manager as it might be reserved, no one came back. Another table that was seated directly next to me complained about their table to the same waiter and was moved immediately to the table I requested without question. I don't have to mention that they were European tourists. I asked the waiter why they got to the move and she just shrugged. Won't go back.

Staff is friendly and location is perfect. It is nice to enjoy it during the afternoon under the sunlight ! But , the food is quite expensive for what you get. I took the koeksister , it was ok but not amazing.

I'm a local. Your coffee shop is for the tourists and not locals. R50 for a egg and piece of bread and piece of burnt bacon.
Leaving the coffee restaurant now. Never again. Shame guys another poor image of cape town. Have informed the tourism bureau and the department of trade and industry

Come here on a lovely summer's day and sit under their majestic trees with the soft breeze caressing your skin. The food is alright. But location is everything here. Don't have kids of my own but seems baby friendly since so many come here in prams. Especially lovely because you can play or take a leisurely stroll in the Gardens once you're done eating.

Wonderful location in the midst of Company's Garden.
One can relax outside on the couch under the trees, squirrels running around and birds humming, great place to read a book.
The food is ok (that's why only four stars), but it's all about the location location location.

Nice spot and beautiful setting but the menu is limited and not much vegan variety. Had a chill time with drinks on a lovely sunday. Kids love the park.

We have frequented the cafe on several occasions and the staff are always very friendly. There is a small play area for kids to busy themselves while waiting for their meals. Our last visit was a little chilly and the waitress brought blankets to line the benches. My daughter was not fond of the omelet but we have enjoyed everything else we have ordered in the past. Oh, and they have an exquisite medley of tea selection!

Arrived at the restaurant for late tea around 4:30pm on Saturday only to be told there was a private function and the restaurant was closed for a private function. Since one can't even book a table there is little point in tuning ahead. Update your website accordingly!!! This is the 2nd and last time I have attempted to come here.
Miss the old place.

The Company's Garden is a beautiful garden in the middle of Cape Town, with lots of pretty flowers and greenery. There are also homeless people laying out on benches later at night, so it is usually better to go during the day.

Beautiful setting but my goodness was the service horrible. The waitresses had snide comments and was incredibly rude. We were a large group (over 20) but those of us who hadn't ordered yet ended up leaving, and those who most of those who stayed just ordered drinks because the prices were so outrageous. Their target market is definitely old tourists and they don't seem to care about any other potential customers!

Had a stunning time sitting outside under the shade of tall trees and warm sunrays while eating a yummy lunch. Service was a little slow but we did go during a busy time. It's definitely worth a visit!
