Professional service. Free transfers within joburg. Excellent food and drinks menu. Great breakfast and coffee. Rooms are comfortable and private. Awesome swimming pool and good views.

Pretty much what you would expect-standard rooms, everything you could need and a very average price rate. Have a few options but could offer more. Convenience in terms of location.

Really nice hotel, located in a quite area. Staff is great and helpful, speaking English. Rooms are not really big but clean with everything we need. Pool is a bit small but nice. Overall a great hotel not too far from the city and all the attractions like safaris. Would recommend.

Worst staff ever. Never saw such lazyness. When asked about their room availability I was answered all room were taken. Yet I was able to book a room online 5min after.
They have a small convenience store. When I asked if trey had tissues I was answered they didn't have any. While looking for other stuff I saw they actually have tissues. Anyway, they just don't give a damn, and that's a shame given the price of the hotel

This Protea is pretty standard. Rooms may need a makeover. Been staying here every year over the last 8 yrs. Since the Marriott took over I think food improved slightly. It's clean and quiet and rates are great. Staff is generally helpful and polite.

Great Hotel in Johannesburg. Prices are fair. Great service from the waiters and the food is great. The receptionists are very welcoming too. Rooms are comfortable too for a business traveler. I loved my experience here.

This isn't just a beautiful hotel, it is an amazing place with impeccable standard. It is all about the service there. It is home away from home everytime you visit protea hotel. You're safety is guaranteed at all time.
They are very professional in the way they handle everything. From the receptionist to the room service, and to the shuttle service, they're all just so wonderful, well trained and well behaved. You're sure to comeback after you visit the Protea hotel here.

Very Good hotel at the proposed budget. Good lobby space. Rooms are very good. Only problem is it's very lousy no event happens. It's a corporate type hotel.

Hotel is very colonial in design which is quite warming. The service and facilities are good. Location is excellent for its easy access to main roads, highways and shopping centres. The property is excellent for venue purposes such as weddings and has ample parking to accomodate same.

Really not great. The 2nd floors carpets in the passage really stank of mildew - which wasn't great for me with allergies. Then the inconsistencies with the accounts department/reception. To long to explain but they really make it difficult for a visiting business to go there. The left hand really didn't know what was happening with the right.
