My mother was there for 2 weeks and never came out. From the first day we had to wait for almost 6 hours for a bed and they say they have over 500 beds??? The most slack hospital from the doctor's, surgeons and especially the nurses in section one. I would not recommend anyone to go to that hospital. Yet they are not afraid to charge these prices?? Very disappointing!!!!

Milpark claims to have 300+ beds available, but one can wait 5 hours for a bed to be made available. The shuttle service is half functional, as we found one cart was out of service more than once, even if its for re-charging batteries. The wait takes forever, that my 90yr old father opts to walk instead of waiting for the shuttle. The wound clinic is situated far at the back of the hospital where there is no practical route to walk there. Waiting forever for the shuttle that never arrived outside the wound clinic where you get the pungent odor of refuse adjacent opposite is an unpleasant experience, when you add in the endless wait for a shuttle. So, we took a short cut past the nitrogen tanks, near the linen store, and ended up in the middle of the hospital, thus we were able to try and shorten the time wasted waiting. My father is 90, still going strong.

My mothers doctors are awesome and knowledgeable they deserve 5-star, the biggest issue i have is the nursing staff at section 7. Their attitudes are appalling and disgusting, they take their time attending to patients even having the 'head nurse' yelling at patients when they speak up for their rights to be treated with respect. This is supposed to be a private hospital but they way things have turned out over the years - you see little difference between it and a public hospital

The standard of Milpark ICU's is shockingly poor.

    The whole experience was despicable!

So sad to see the Milpark hospital, drop to such a very unacceptably low standard.

Staff don't communicate and seem disinterested on duty! Unable to answer basic questions. No briefing handovers and fill in the chart clueless of patient's condition. Sit around eating crisps and shouting at each other in ICU while critically ill patients are resting in front of them. Unbelievable!

The doctor care and communication was equally shocking. After 9 days without communication from the pulmonologist the family requested to speak to him. He kept the family waiting for 45 minutes in the ward knowing they were waiting to speak to him. He firstly appeared to be clueless when addressing the family, then checked the chart and proceeded to convey irrelevant patient information. The patient had liver, kidney and heart failure and the doctor started saying he had skin cancer. (He has had skin cancer for many years and it was irrelevant to the current condition) The doctor was not only evidently clueless but very dismissive when speaking to the family. Absolutely rude!

    I was left shocked.

It was very upsetting to experience this level of unprofessional doctor care and knowing that a loved one is being mistreated by unknowledgeable doctor.

How can Netcare allow this or has the Group also go downhill?

Friendly nurses, general staff, security and the pharmacist and teller at Clicks. Everybody here is helpful. The entrance is wheelchair friendly, the lifts are also big enough for the wheelchairs. The wards are clean. Restrooms are clean and have handbag-hangers.

Disgusted with lack of treatment and feedback regarding care of our mother. 5 days since being admitted for a urgent surgery, but no action to date except pain medication and no contact with family.

I am disgusyed at the level of service we recived from this hospital. The nurses are rude and treat you like crap and the doctors are difficult to get hold of. The feedback is appauling and you dont know whats happening while my dad is deteriorating and no one knows why??? His been in icu for more than a month now. His sheets are dirty theres always blood on the beds and she sheets but they claim to be so hygienic making you sanitise but look at the state of the patients bed! I would rate it less than one star but unfortunately it does not give you that option.
