Service at this hospital has only improved. Admission is dealt with efficiently and most importantly you are well treated, given the fact that you are there through necessity.
Bad service especially at night we arrived at hospital and no one helped us we were told to wait for the 3 people that had arrived before us and they had been waiting for an hour. I will never go back there again the staff is very rude and unhelpful for a private hospital I was very disappointed. Had to drive all the way to Garden City where we got excellent service. One will die at wilgeheuwel while they are getting they are getting their money before helping you. They are more concerned with payment than helping the sick.
I delivered my baby at Wilgeheuwel Life hospital and what an amazing and memorable experience. From the admission process to discharge was a breeze. The staff in the Maternity ward was amazing, I must have buzzed them to come to my room a million times, each time they responded immediately and was always friendly and helpful. The small things they did went a long way, from assistance with breastfeeding, ensuring that my room was clean at all times, food trays was removed when I was done, check ins regularly, help with my baby, assisting me with my personal requirements when it came to my baby. They even assisted my husband to ensure that he was part of the entire process, taking care of my baby whilst in recovery and bonding with our baby. A special thanks to sister Zulu and Lydia and I wish I could name all the staff. I would highly recommend this hospital for any maternity admissions.
I have heard in the past that Wilgeheuwel's Casuality department is useless but though it was just over sensitive people
Well I TOTALLY AGREE! USELESS! I was admitted to Casualties and the doctor was useless! Misdiagnosed me. One would expect much more or a better qualified doctor to be in charge of such an important department.
The support staff was not bad.
The doctor at the 24 hour emergency section didn’t know what was wrong with my 2 year old today. Advised I must wait and see another doctor after the holiday. I went to another hospital and were advised if I waited my little one would have to be admitted as the condition would have gotten worse. Great support staff at the 24 hour emergency section. Not so great doctors unfortunately. This is the second time the doctors had a bad diagnosis with our family. Better doctors would make this place great as the support staff is awesome.
Very good hospital and they took care of me when I admitted! Highly recommended!
Excellent service inside hospital in the wards, at the x-ray dept and great staff at 24 casualty area
Great medical facility with loads of Doctors and Specialists. Great hospital service that make you feel you are in a hotel.
i went to the casualty on the 17th march 2017 to get an injection for my sever lower back pain,R2000 later for just an injection and lying on their bed for about an hour, what a rip off this hopsital is.I will never return to this hospital as they are damn rip offs
Generally all staff here are great 👍🏻
One of the Hospitals that I trust, Doctors and Nurses friendly and helpfull
My father was admitted at this hospital in section7 room F on 24th January 2017 for an operation and admitted into a semi room for 2 patients. From theater he spent a night in the icu. On the 25th he was moved back to the roomF section7 for 10mins then moved to roomM with 4 other people without being consulted. On me asking why he had been moved from the room he was originally admitted the nurse Stella who looks after the nursing staff at night only came to speak to me after an hour and a half of waiting with lots of excuses from they wanted him closer to the nurses station as he is old, to she has 2 female patients the next day and hence they moved him. I had pre-booked and paid the hospital cash for his stay there for 6days why didn't anyone of the nurses consult him on why he was moved.? Why was there still another white male in roomM? Why was Stella lieing that he was moved to make room for female patients the following day? I was told that the hospital admits patients on a first come first serve basis what happened to that rule? The nursing staff in section 7 on the 25th of January evening are all rude and xenophobic. The white gentleman was only moved on me having raised my voice and my father later after 2 hours was moved back to room F. The Doctors at Wilgehuwel Life Hospital all are great and courteous as for the evening nursing staff in section 7 they have left a bitter taste in my mouth for the R135k I have paid the hospital. The nurse in charge during the day is racist and treats both patients and the other black nursing staff badly. I will not be returning to this hospital and will not recommend anyone else cause end of the day the nursing staff are the ones who look after the patients and can make or break the hospital reputation. I will be sending another email to the head office to site my concerns.
