ED staff (nurses)are rude and unhelpful. Hospital is not busy. They dont talk to you properly. Take their time.
Dear reader ,check the dates and today its 20 January 2022 .you might be lucky if you decide to go and get the best service according to my own experience I cannot or wish anyone go what I went through. I have been there twice i must say at first I had to be patient but the second visit cut all ties I can never go there saying I will be patient again worst service, rude staff and dirty place from 7am till 7pm you will be still trying to get help the worst was that when I was told last minute that there no doctor to help me anymore all I wanted was a covid swap for my son.
It was my first experience at a government hospital. We rushed my dad there on a Sunday morning. Fortunately it was not busy.
Nurses, assistants and doctors were very quick to assist him and ensure he was being stabilized.
The lady at reception helping me fill out forms was very friendly and understanding of my shock, she was kind enough to let me take a few minutes to gather myself.
The inside of the casualty section was clean and neat. The doctor assisting us came to talk to us on several occasions and keep us updated.
I am truly grateful for everyone who helped us on the Sunday. What an amazing group of people. Thank you.
I genuinely had a very pleasant experience with this hospital when I went to birth my child a few days ago, I must say I was very concerned because of stigma associated with public health but my expectations were surpassed.
From the nurses at antenatal, to nurse Precious at the Sonar room, to nurse Matshise at labor ward to the nurses at nursery they were all kind, even the ladies who were serving us food did it with so much grace and kindness. I was really blown away.
For someone who had used a private hospital before I would say there wasn't much difference, just that they're under staffed but they really try their best to treat patients with utmost respect.
Thank you to everyone who made my stay here to be stress free.
My Mother was admitted early yesterday evening. Despite being both under staffed and under resourced, from the time I spent at the hospital every staff member I encountered was very pleasant while working tirelessly around the clock to try and help all those in need. Some of our private hospitals could take a lesson or two from Edenvale Hospital.
DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bloody dirty place, i wouldnt pick this hell hole even if i were dying!!!
Doctors are horrible to their patients. My husband was screaming out in pain and all he wanted was a glass of water, docters walked right past him and chatted in the corner like it was their day off, Waited an hour and 20 minutes for a glass of water!
Docters didn't even treat me like a human being.
Dried blood on the floor, stinks of rotten food!
This isnt a place to get treated this is a place you gp to to get sick so you don't have to go to work!
No signage to anywhere! No bathrooms available for family members of patients, wouldn't even go to the bathroom even if i ate curry !
Chickens are running all over in this hospital After being dropped off by an ambulance you are basically left to die.. we had to go there and fight to get help while the lady was going into hyperthermia they didn't even have dam blankets. Best part is this ENTIRE hospital cannot do a simple blood transfusion so she had to be transferred to another hospital. Please don't use this hospital, you will die unless you have family to fight for your life.
Staff highly unprofessional.leaving patient unattended and not delivering on what they say and thus in most instances leaving patients for long durations of time unattended, unchecked and in grave pain.
If we're going to be medical professionals, we made an oath to serve and help those with physical ailments and if we find ourselves in a position where we are not able to fulfill our promises or deliver on what we promised then, we better leave our jobs for those willing to dedicate all their effort and time without complaint because at the end of the day we are useless to those who desperately need us and it will be doing the society a favor if we quit.
Very poor service from the nurse I'm 34 weeks pregnant and I went there because of my BP was high came in the morning till 9pm no one attended me so I decided to go. They don't even bother to check if you're OK,two people gave birth on the floor
I am very upset as many people speak of this hospital as the best. we reside in Boksburg and a family member has a serious problem with her hand. I phoned there just now and the quality control person could not give me sufficient info on the procedures. for this family member of mine going to the OR Tambo hospital is a no go. People die there. my advise to this hospital is to appoint people that has the qualifications to assist a person when ever needed. and to all the other hospitals out there. stop refusing medical care when most needed.
Maternity ward extremely sucks. Something urgently needs to be done or else shut the hospital down.
I took a family member into casualty as he was vomiting a lot of blood and in terrible pain. He was left on a stretcher in a corridor for hours, vomiting blood which I had to clean as there was no medical staff to assist. He was then admitted to a ward. The nursing staff are so rude, not at all interested in helping (doing their job). They were very rude to him in the morning after he was admitted as he had been vomiting blood during the night and there were bloody tissues all over his bed and on the floor. They refused to pick it up and told him to. Three days after being admitted he is still vomiting blood, in a lot of pain and no diagnosis has been made. Besides blood tests, no scans to determine the cause of the pain. When I asked the "sister"in charge for more pain medication I was told that it was out of stock and would only be available the next day. When I told her that was unacceptable and that I was not leaving until he had been given pain killers she very reluctantly went to another ward to get it. When I left, I heard them all mumbling that I was complaining. Why are these people in the medical profession when they arent interested in helping the patients ?! Shame on you Edenvale Hospital nursing staff!!
It is good hospitale staff happy en smill
Thanks
My wife is 7 months pregnant and she is attending her antinental care at this hospital. She arrives at the hospital at 0445 hours every one day of the week for chech ups. From morning the doctor will only arrive at 1200 oclock noon, attend to 5, 6 patients then asks the rest to come back the next day. If you are unlucky to be sent to the so called machine (NST)apparently it takes an hour per patient. So from 12noon only 3 or 4 patients will be attended to then the rest asked to come back the following day. The nurses are so rude they hardly make a conversation with you, if you ask a question the answer is "are you here because you are sick or to ask question" The toilets are filthy like there's no night cleaner, the cleaners only come in at 1000hours. Only 1 toilet paper is put in the morning, when it runs out that's it no more paper for the rest of the day. I wonder how it is in the labour room, delivery room! The hospital has only 12 beds by the post natal department. The hospital has no resources at all and the staff members makes it extremely worse. We have no choice but to go to the clinic.
Clean which is nice because you wait LONG to be sent to another queue.
Staff don't know what they are doing in an emergency.
No management.
No cohesion between staff.
Complicated procedures.
There are actual chickens walking around inside the hospital.
Dirty
Extremely rude security staff / us come to deliver food and they said no they will take it. Of course I'm sure the patient would never get it - thus after the nurses said Sunday could take it to the nurses station and phoning hospital. Told I must wait 30 minutes for visiting hours. Why couldn't we be told that when we specifically asked.
I had the worst experience at edanvale maternity ward on the 30/05/2016 when I was booked for and elective C sectionthere is a nurse called Dikeledgi who was working the afternoon shiftwhom l heard telling other nurses that the white files are finished by their desk so she can't go and get more coz l look strongl was made to sit infront of their desk for over 2 hours and then I was told to go to the other room where l was given a bedthen the night shift came in they were nice beside one slender dark nurse I don't remember her name wellby around 4am catheter and drip were inserted for mi to do the c section during the day of 31/05/2016.spent the whole day with the drip and catheter then I heard the same nurses (Dikeledgi) saying she doesn't care much about me she is only concerned about the other 2 that I was admitted with the previous night that were also booked for c section..around 5pm the nurse (Dikeledgi) came in w the doctor and the doctor said they must book me for the following day so l must be given foodthus when I asked them to remove the catheter coz I was feeling too Much pain and there was so much water coming out which they oll said they are coming.the slender nurse for the night shift told me they can't do that because they will be wasting the catheters and when l told her that I'm having alot of water coming out and when it's coming out I'm having a very sharp pain she told me it's normal.I didn't sleep the whole night because of the pain I was feeling. Then the morning of 01/06/2016 I was taken to the theater.where I was done a c cession and I got a baby boy who was healthy as the they told methey told me that I was gonna find my baby by the nursery by the martenity wardmy operation was done at 10:55am and when l was taken to the martenity ward I was given an injection for pain then I slept woke up around 2:30pm.when one of the nurses came in to ask about the baby clothes.she went out again without taking them and never told me anythingwhen my husband came in to visit at 3pm he was told our baby has been taken to ward 6 coz he had difficult in breathing he went there to check on him only to be told that our baby was stable and it happens sometimes to big babies.I went to check on my baby on 2/06/2016 the staff on that ward were so nice and they told me my baby was stablethey are monitoring his breathingI went again after 4 hours only to be told that my baby's condition worsened when I left but he had stablelised when I went thereme and my husband went again around 3pm when he came to visit spent the whole visiting hours with him the doctors told us he is much much better I might be discharged with him the following day.we left at around 5:30pm was given an injection 4 pain l slept only to be woken up around 3am that I was called at ward 6.only to find my handsome boy lifeless body the nurse who was on duty couldn't tell me what went wrong with my boy.thus when the doctor came in and asked the nurse what happened she couldn't answer him the doctor took him out outside and when he came back he just hugged me No one explained what went wrong to my handsome boy..I just hate the treatment I got from that hospitalthough not oll the staff had bad hearts but, Dikeledgi and the slender night shift nurse dark in complexion and to mention a fewthe HR's really need to put an eye on the martenity ward of edanvale hospitalmy boy passed away on 3/06/2016 and I don't know what killed him I'm so heartbroken 💔 as lm writing this wishing that there will be an explanation to what really killed my boy.
