Right place at the right time when things are bad and sad out there..a break to recover..so much so becomes a challenge to leave face the outside world again. All staff who are not caring or well trained with sometimes emotionally unpredictable patients..must have been fired..because everyone (almost) appear to make you feel comfortable no matter how confused you are. Food is greathave a choice of food plates ie chicken or stroganoff; bobutie v fish. Nice place..to change

I was a patient at Denmar 6years ago. I am in a very good place at this time thanks to the help I received there. Yes the food was not always the best, but later realized that I needed to ask for a special diet plan and it was great. If people would only realize that it is not a resort but a place where you are assisted to find something positive in life and be thankful it makes your recovery so much easier. The rules that is implemented at Denmar is to help you and get you back to discover your own worth. Dr Eugene Viljoen was the anchor in getting me back on the road to recovery. If you work with the team you will get better. Thank you all for what you have done for me. My motto is simple, treat others (staff), and fellow patients with respect and you will reap the benefits. I had so much time to reflect on all my blessings seeing what other people has to deal with. We live in a very broken world. If your Dr recommend you go there grab the opportunity and get help. Elize

Consumerism and vandalism seems to be encouraged. Upon suggesting solutions, we are met with petty and offensive rebukes drom staff and management.

I am here for sleep therapy. There is an old man in ward D9 screaming us awake, and it happened at 3am today.I am typing this at 3:52 am. Chickens roaming the grounds cockoo-ing at 4am.Nothing is being done. Defeats the purpose of being here. I am booking myself out today. Dont care what anyone has to say. Otherwise friendly staff, neat grounds, great food and treatment by Dr Prinsloo and Dr Beunink very professional.

I am disabled and they all treat me like I'm lazy. They are inconsiderate rude and lazy. After I complained about this it got better but then I had another 4 nurses acting this way again. Then they continue to complain about how fat and heavy I am, like I dont already know and that it doesnt already make me suicidal
Some of the nurses and cleaning staff are absolute Angel's.
Reception is the absolute worst. For some unknown reason I cannot phantom they get really irratated when I get deliveries. All they have to do is make the delivery man sign in and out. They have on several occasions tried to make me walk there saying that if i can walk to the phone (2m) then I can walk to reception which is a considerable distance. I have disintegrated facet joints. I cant. The dr has my MRI.
The psychiatrist and shrink I am seeing here are PHENOMENAL!!!!!
Unfortunately, despite what I was promised, a drs and nurses sleep and rest and relaxation time is more important than a patients medical needs and the sisters dont want to call the drs when I request them to, which I try to do at reasonable hours. So I have to suffer all night with insomnia and unbearable pain and crippling anxiety.
The food is UTTERLY inedible. And considering how much they charge they can stop constantly giving me dry tinned tuna.
Some of the nurses are absolutely down right rude and aggressive and deny me my rights, like my right to speak to the matron and fill out a complaints form
or call the dr WHEN THE DR HAS WRITTEN IN THE FILE TO CALL HER SHOULD I HAVE ANY CONCERNS.
I just had another incident with the nurse and they are refusing to bring me a complaints form using delaying tactics hoping I will fall asleep soon and forget about it.
Out of the 3 matrons I dealt with only one was people orientated. the other 2 were hard hearted and rude and unhelpful unsympathetic and stern.
This was the worst experience of my life. The drs are good but the nursing staff esp matrons are demons out of hell and as I said the food is aweful. The cleaning staff is amazing.
Apparently if you dont have your own room you need to share a bathroom with like a million people and there is never hot water and the bathrooms arent clean.
The nurses fraudulently sign off that they have given you medication when they havent then when you raise the issue they treat you like a crazy criminal druggie
One of the nurses told me I promised to buy her cake I couldnt remember saying such a thing AT ALL. But she nagged the whole day. Eventually I gave in
I gave her R100. I asked for my change and till slip twice and she never brought it to me. THATS THEFT.response / report this review -

Badest place where in ever was. Rudest sisters. Bloemcare is the most ideal hospitaal. They treat 30 year old with school rules for primary school. I will never refer anyone to came here for healing. Only the Dr was good and my psychiatrist. Food is unbearable.

To everyone who thinks it's an awful place
Denmar has helped me with all my problems
I made friends there that helped me
They do give children medicine
But the medicine works for me and everyone else I have met there
The food is great
They have vegan and vegetarian meals as well
The place is always clean
They treat everyone equally and they don't do any unorthodox acts or and bulls#@t like that
I recommend denmar to everyone

This institute and it's Psychiatrists are diagnosing DRUG ADDICTS under wrong diagnosis just to make money. Medical Aids should be aware of this fraud happening! They prescribe more addictive medication to the ADDICTS to maintain a steady income. I will fight for all the addicts that is being exploited by them. Carte Blanche.. take note

The idea is to rest more. Freedom to change psychiatrists and Psychologist if you feel the pairing is not suitable for you and your treatment. But friendly staff and Dr's.

I've been admitted there 4 times & have recieved the best facilities & care from nurses/staff. Friendly & safe environment. If I'm ever to relapse- I would still go there again.
