Consistency is not followed here. Few good experience can be quickly ruined by a couple of truly horendus experiences. Two words this place avoid at all cost "medical malpractice". Like many hospitals they have become exceptionally good at avoiding accountability for the service they provide.
I recently had my baby at this facility and my baby received treatment for Juandice and I must say I am very happy with the service received from all staff in maternity as well as pediatric wards who made sure myself and my baby are comfortable and explained everything in an understandle manner. Thank you very much. One concern is parking please work to improve that
This hospital has that something extra. Good service in general, excellent doctors - should be par for the course. I looked for the "holistic" aspect mentioned in the promotional materials. And I found it. Sr Mary Jane in ICU personifies it. Thank you, EML hospital, and ward 4 in particular. I carry fond memories with me. To be commended, in my home language, for filling in the ICU evaluation card truthfully, by a senior hospital administrator, was very special to me. Thank you for showing me this respect. Long live the spirit of this place. Dr Eugene Marais would approve.
I was at EM Radiology. Friendliest, professional and efficient staff. They go the extra mile to let you feel welcome.
My son was admitted to the pediatric unit for some tests. Staff are all friendly and great with kids. The x-Ray department is top notch and they even managed to persuade my busy 9year old to stay still during the MRI. My only complaint is the cost of the caffeteria! Food is great, but the prices are crazy expensive. Still one of the better hospitals we have been in.
I won't go to any other hospital and we've got experience of quite a few in Pretoria. Definitely to be recommend
We’ve been here since 13:00 it’s now 16:10 and we still haven’t seen a doctor. The waiting times are worse than a public hospital and treatment as well as staff attitude subpar
Best hospital for emergency treatment and as a patient was always treated very well. Good doctors awailable on site.
My Daughter and I were admitted here in different times the service is excellent the staff is very kind
I would like to thank all the Drs and Nurses at the Life Eugene Marais Hospital from reception to trauma unit to the ward and surgery. I walked into the hospital at midnight and the ladies on duty at reception didn't waste anytime and got me into their triage trauma unit for consultation and called a Dr who clearly knew what she was doing by giving me immediate attention. Everyone from the nurses to the porter that pushed me to the xray and back to the Dr and Nurse that attended to me. Thank you. Even when i got admitted the nurse that completed my admission form to all the nurses after that, that gave me loads of blankets to insure i was warm and comfortable to every shift nurse that checked up on me with a smile every hour all day and all night i truly appreciate your service and respect that you answered your callings to be a nurse as it can't be easy to attend to all patients for 12 hrs straight everyday with a smile. i would also like to thank the Drs that attended to me, the triage GP, the General Surgeon, the Anesthesiologist, the Radiographer, the Physiotherapist and all the others supporting Drs such as the Urologist that i might not have met. I thank all Drs and Nurses that do their job with such true dedication. It is because of people like you who safe lives that most of us are still on earth. I thank God for yo and may He continue to bless all of you and your families. I also like to thank the nurse that reassured me that doing the surgery through these Drs was going to be a success and indeed it was. Thank you to the friendly kitchen and cleaning staff as well for the few chats and jokes shared. I also liked that the hospital smelled clean and didn't smell like a typical hospital. The beds are so comfortable i want a bed like that at my house.
They practise high patient care.
First class professional health care
They have professionals, high calibre specialist doctors and wound clinc. Oncology. And others
My wife was in Hospital. Had to pay R2500 before they would admit her. Medical Aid in the mean time waived the R2500. Now I cannot get hold of Andries Loots or Tyler Jones to arrange that they pay back my R2500. I have send 2 e-mails already and they never answer the phone. The treatment my wife had in Ward 8 High Care was also bad.
Neat and Clean, knowledgeable staff and doctors. Food is normal hospital food if you are booked in. But it has a Nice coffee shop on the ground floor if you are able to make it there. I've been there once for a whole week, and got my diagnosis and treatment without any hastle or inconvenience.
Received the best service from the staff in ward 4 on 28 and 29 March. If I think about the nurses code these ladies exceeded themselves. My entire stay I received excellent service from Dr H Basson. To the surgery staff and physiotherapist. Thanks to all. And not to forget the receptionist and book in ladies. Thank you
I got to the emergency im told doctor is at the ICU, One doctor running trauma and the hospital. Not professional at all. This place changed used to be the best but now it's decaying. I ask for results on my daughter's exray im told to wait they bussy but i payed for my service and cant get my results. After 2day. Still waiting.
Where are the negative stars. I need them. After the listeriosis outbreak andall the cold meat etc etc recalked I got a plate of food with ham yesterday 6 March 2018 and the one slice of ham was green down the one side???? An epidemic and hospitals are still serving ham???????? Seriously, our government must intervene this is a serious problem.
Tonight again this hospital proved itself to be 5 steps ahead of the rest. The service is quick, friendly and the staff knows what they are doing unlike certain hospitals with huge names in Centurion area. A big thank you to the staff, nurses and the doctors at the ER wing of this hospital. I will rather drive 30km extra to visit your hospital instead of these pathetic hospitals in Centurion.
Normally good service and friendly and helpful staff and doctors. They have an excellent pharmacy, which is great for after hour visits as well. You just don't want to go here with an emergency or without a medical aid It takes forever to get help and can turn out very expensive.
It's one of best professional health hospital and it's got highly skilled doctors.
Its quite good but some black nurses thinks every black person can speak their native language,l wish they could at least speak in English as it is an international language
Well stocked with fast and efficient service. Very friendly and helpful pharmacists on duty.
Excellent service from reception to medical care. Service could however have been faster. The pharmacy needs to be more efficient
No problems with the service here friendly and helpful staff
Services is good. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Definitely not the best Life Hospital. Some wards have serious personel issues. X-ray dept one of the best.
The sisters and Eugene Marais are the friendliest and most helpful I have experienced thus far. All the staff in general are very obliging and the facilities are great.
I received the best service yesterday at Eugene Marais when booking my maternity bed and 4d Scan. The info desk told me exactly where to go and it took roughly 20 minutes to fill in the form and open a file and I was done. Thank you for the quick and efficient service, this is very rare thing in South Africa.
Very disappointed with the serves at Eugene Marais hospital emergencies. My friend came here at 17:00 with her son that got hurt in rugby and its already 20:47 and nothing has been done this child is in so much pain. Cant believe the serves and the fact that nothing has been done.
The service is appalling. I am surprised this hospital is still operational. Could easily be mistaken as a state hospital because of the service. Do not go here no matter what the circumstances
The staff at the maternity ward is the most unfriendly and rude I have ever seen in any hospital in the country and I have been to quite a few. There is a few (minumum) who tries to be friendly. Thx. Keep in mind if it is first time parents they are already afraid and wil ask questions. Be polite be friendly it cost nothing. Do not tell the dad or grandparents they are in your way(in that exact words). The grandparents spend thousands of rands ti attend this moment. Do not spoil it with your bad attitude.
After falling off my mountain bike and shattering my pelvis I was transferred from UNITAS to Eugene Marais and put under the care of Dr Snyckers.
All I can say is the care I received in ICU after my 7 hour reconstruction surgery was fantastic.
The care in the normal wards was good and the food excellent.
Some of the younger nurses need a little training in the care of someone with multiple pelvic fractures, especially regarding the use of bed pans. It was frequently an exceptionally painful exercise after which they were required to bath me and remake the bed.
But a very positive experience.
