I stayed here mid July, 2017 on a work trip.

The basement rooms are stuffy and there is a strong mold smell from the carpets. When I was moved to another room, it was slightly better, but the moldy smell was still there, which I think is just a health hazard. Honestly, the place doesn't smell clean.

The breakfast was average, and some of the staff were friendly, however I found the staff at reception to be the least helpful.

Overall the hotel is extremely disappointing. I would not recommend anyone to stay here. For the price they charge you can get much better service at other hotels in the area.

This place really doesn't understand the art of hospitality.

Aside from the comfortable accommodations, City Lodge has become a hostel. Guests do not care about anyone else.they make noises untill the early hours of the morning.walk around, banging on doors. Even cheaper accommodation is better

Nice place to stay for business when passing through Durban. Very close to everything Durban has to offer and I would recommend staying here if you need to be close to Central Durban.
