The staff is fabulous, very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and rooms are spacious and well equipped .

The City Lodge is well located with easy access to Gateway mall which includes the usual high street clothing stores and restuarants.

Really nice hotel. Great location by the mall. I didnt have a chance to stay long buy the important things like, super comfy bed, great air con (because Durban is very humid) and super friendly staff.. cant comment on the breakfast because I didnt try it but it's a great place

Not good experience my stayed was of 10 days from first day i got internet issue till time checkoutlots of office work rely on internet staff tried a lot but no resultatleast they should have alternate option if mtn is not working they should provide another connection

Rooms were a bit small but well kept and clean. It was a bit noisy on the outside of my room - mall side.

We(husband, son and I) have been coming to City Lodge Umhlanga once or twice a year since 2010. We loved it. This visit, however, the staff were not as friendly. The first morning at breakfast we were not offered tea or coffee but a white gentleman in a table next to us was smiled at, greeted and offered a hot beverage. We are a well-mannered, considerate SA indian family. I am very dissapointed.

I am just so impressed with this city lodge and their amazing honest staff. Left something in my room on my visit. On making a call I was told by Ncami they do have it and will keep it for me. Thank u for your honest staff. So encouraging in this day and age.

Lovely hotel with great location opposite the Gateway Shopping Centre which is one of the largest malls in SA.
Friendly staff.
We left early & the guys packed a nice breakfast box to go.
