We had dinner before a show and it took 1.5 hrs to get the food (excluding the rice or naan - ie. just the curry arrived). Not once did the manager come to apologise or inform of the busy kitchen. Their was a special reduced show menu (150 ZAR for 4/5 pieces of chicken) and yet the kitchen wasn't able to get it out to the tables. Poor communication. I suggest you sit down with the team.
Poor quality food and lacks style & service
We had a large group of 12. Everyone's food arrived except my wife's. Most people were at least half way down with their meal so she said forget my order I will just have the wine an share my husband's. The waitress appoligize and said please take the dish and it will be comped. She ate a little bit and left most. When the bill for the group arrived her meal was on the tab. The waitress would not make eye contact. When checking with the manager he said no you must pay. Also he was extremely rude. Please don't go to this restaurant. There are so many nice places in the area to go to.
Good menu options, a bit pricy.
I first went to this restaurant 5 years ago when it was apparently one of the best indian places in town. Food and service were both amazing. It is however sad to observe that everything has just been going downhill thereafter.
You no longer get the nice welcome from the waiters, food is just terrible and my friends and I even once got the " Sorry. We don't have the ingredients for the one dish on the menu"- something you do not expect from a restaurant which claims to be "arguably the finest cuisine on planet earth".
Their food is amazing. Prepared fast, and staff is very friendly and helpful as to what to eat. Great Indian cuisine. Would recommend it if you are a bit above the normal budget.
Not sure why the reviews are so poor Every experience at Bukhara GrandWest has been a memorable one. Food perfectly prepared and served piping hot to your table. Your every whim is catered for and staff go the extra mile to make sure your visit is perfect. Been frequenting this restaurant for 14 years and I've never been left wanting.
Sad to say that this place has gone downhill over the last 2 years. Not worth it anymore. New chefs make the food completely different to what we have come to expect. My wife and I have been going for years ordering at least 1 butter chicken curry, which was always a red colour. This time, it was brown and nowhere near as good. They also didn't have the poppadoms and everything was lifeless. The service was also lackluster. Rather go to the one in Cape Town.
The worst service experienced as for food it was ice cold this restaurant is not a classy restaurant should be closed down poor expectations
The dining experience was not a good one. We chose a Durbanville Hills Chardonnay which was not a available, we were requested to select another wine, we chose a Tokara Chardonnay, that also not available and had to settle on a third wine. The stuffed mushrooms were not available either. The food was not great and the service was shocking considering only 2 tables were occupied in the restaurant. We realised after our meal why the restaurant was so empty, it is expensive and the food is terrible, will not recommend this restaurant to anybody.
