The food is special, the price is not low. Don't forget the 10% extra fee. Much cheaper if you go to the store next to the restaurant.
Good service. I accidently showed up during the time they close for prayer. They were kind enough to let me in anyway. The coffee and light eats menu was good.
delicious meals that had a nice variety. it was legit cape Malay cuisine for a casual meal. everything was pleasant and flavorful. the servers were attentive. the prices were reasonable for the most part. I do wish the portions for certain dishes was a bit more but some were just fine. overall I would return for another meal for sure and bring some more friends to chat with over a meal.
The best way to experience the Bo Kaap and Cape Malay Culture. Tried the Chicken Curry, which was excellently prepared and presented. Nothing fussy about restaurant, laid back and a good option for any day lunch. Service was unobtrusive and professional
Its average food. If you want a real curry, its best to go eat at taj mahal in hout bay
Very friendly atmosphere , good food , value for money
Staff is friendly and food is great : we tasted cape malay dishes (Pienang) and a mince salomies, which was really good. The place is nice. I would advise the restaurant to stop serving the side dish in little plastic bowls with little plastic spoons as it creates unnecessary waste.
Best staff around. Very friendly, inviting, and hospitable. Welcoming to all. This strictly non-alcoholic establishment is a great local spot for Cape Malay style cuisine.
Lovely opportunity to try traditional and delicious Malay food with a view of Bo Kaap with Table Mountain in the distance. Informal and friendly. If you prefer something different check their menu. Lots of seating available too. Good service and very reasonable prices when we were there. Loved the lime milkshake!
Good service and food not very expensive
Friendly service. Great food. Would definitely come back to try the local Cape Malay dishes!
Food is awesome, the dening vleis and the Haleem Soup are definite must tries. Owner is a real character and service is excellent.
Maybe it wasn't our luck but the food was quite ordinary, servings are small for the prices, especially in Cape Town. Very interesting food though and something to try when in Bo-Kaap.
The restaurant is simply furnished but the food is delicious. We were welcomed in a very friendly way and the service was good. It's not a place to hang out for hours (since the owners are Muslim, no alcohol is served) but if you're looking for decent cape malay cuisine, this is the place to go.
Nice and pleasant restaurant with (mostly) middle eastern cuisine. It's pretty mainstream, but lacks anything special
Amazing and heart felt service. Visiting from Australia have been to a few fancy restaurants here but honestly this has topped it for me. This place looks humble but their food is amazing and authentic. Desert was also very pleasant. So happy I found this place for when I return!
I love authentic experiences and eating local and traditional food. Biesmiellah was a big disappointment. Everything was average - food, service, pricing, venue. It felt like there is no passion here. As a tourist, you can do much better in Cape Town. For locals, rather eat at home.
