Perfect tasting menu, amazing food and service! We had dinner at La Mouette on our last day in South Africa and there was no better way to end such a lovely trip. I will remember the goat cheese and honey dessert forever and ever! Great Gin Tonic too.

Can’t rate food honestly as a la carte tasting menus with tiny portions that you sniff up within seconds is not my thing. Service was excellent. The setting is beautiful, try to get a table outside in their courtyard, perfect for the warm night.
The only complaint would be the hard plastic chairs, after three hours of wining and dining I couldn’t sit straight anymore. The chairs need cushions or to be replaced with soft ones all together to make the experience more pleasant.

Excellent, brilliant food and the whole experience is a real treat, well worth the hefty bill - incredibly good value actually.
Genius dishes, flavour and texture explosions in a relaxed and gracious setting with impeccable charming service.

We went for the six course with the wine pairings. What a wonderful experience from a culinary and a social standpoint. We have traveled the world. There is not a better restaurant than La Mouette. I hope your experience is as satisfyingly as was ours.

Great taste with every course. The deserts are really the best in Cape Town! You have to pay a visit. Reservations are recommended.

We were give 2 set menu options. Each course had fantastic small food taste experiences. There was also a Wine paring option for each menu option. I found the food expensive for what you got. I also found the time between courses really long and the chef sent a very polite but firm response indicating there were 6 tables in front of us. A good experience, could be improved.

Undoubtedly in my top 3 restaurants. The 5 course spring menu is packed full of flavour with presentation to match. Amazing service and phenomenal venue.

Excellent, delicious, on point food. It's pricey so probably best for a celebratory meal. Really great options though -- we did the spring 6-course menu with wine pairing and it's without a doubt the best degustation experience in Cape Town (and world class food & wine!). My husband and I had different meals for some of the mains and it was just incredible to taste all the various options. Money well spent! Can't wait to try the summer menu. The service is also quite excellent and the online booking option is the best I've ever used.

La Mouette is without a doubt one of the best value, fine dining establishments in Cape Town. Should be listed in top 10! Excellent service, hospitality and crafted well thought out masterpieces of taste and texture on a plate. Well done to Chef Henry and Chef Andre. @aibarnet thanks Anne!

After seeing the Spring Menu advertised this week my sister-in-law and I decided on an early dinner after a day spent working together. We took a lovely walk along the promenade to reach the restaurant, which has its home in a beautiful old Seapoint house. As the weather had turned cold and misty we opted instead for the 3 course menu and a delicious bottle of Fable Mountain Night Sky red wine. Sitting close to the fireplace we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the excellent service from smiling waiters. I started with the Mushroom starter - a symphony of truffle, oyster mushrooms and hazelnut with pasta. Main course was Duck with a potato cake and jus and for dessert a deconstructed lemon meringue with lemon granita and a lovely tart curd. Mandy had the calamari starter, wonderfully soft with with a smoky flavour and chili oil. Her main of beef fillet was equally delicious. Well worth a visit for any occasion.

We visited the restaurant for a special occasion, willing to spend a little more for good food. This restaurant did not disappoint!

We loved the restaurant's ambience. The food we had was well prepared and presented and tasted exquisite! Our waiter was friendly, professional and attentive to our needs.

All in all a great experience and we hope to return soon.

Definitely one of the better fine dining places in Cape Town. The venue is old school meets modern, the staff are well trained and knowledgeable about the food and the overall experience is one to remember. Of course the food is absolutely amazing. Definitely a top place on my list.

The team running this restaurant is getting it right! Here you can get a delicious tasting menu for such a reasonable price its fantastic. They are using local suppliers in the most part and their menu is completely seasonal. There is a lovely wine list to accompany the menu, enabling long Sunday lunches with family and friends.

Yesterday we ate at La Mouette for the first time and I must say I wasn't impressed. After all reviews I read I do not think that value and price are justified. The Tuna tartar was covered in a pickled cucumber which was not going well together. The Ravioli was OK but the Gnocchi not at all like Gnocchi and Mayonnaise doesn't actually go with it taste wise. I have visited many restaurants in the past year and this restaurant definitely doesn't live up to its reviews. The ambiance however is very nice. Therefore 2 stars.
