Only visited the Spa and the restaurant, not a hotel visitor.
The spa was nice, welcoming entrance with friendly staff. The massage area were neat and clean, but no space to lock your wallet, phone etc for safe keeping while enjoying your time with them.
Messages were nice, just your standard.

Restaurant, we expected more. Seems like they are more bar orientated than restaurant.
Not a wide selection of meals and nothing extraordinary, can't compare with other restaurants nearby.

We stayed at The Cullinan for two nights recently, and were left quite unimpressed with their 5-star rating: the rooms are small, the decor and facilities are dated, the breakfast buffet is quite crowded, and the food is average.

The bar has a good vibe in the evening, with a good selection of drinks and food. On our first night, we had a few tapas, which were delicious. However, on the second night, I ordered a sirloin steak, which had obviously been frozen - this was quite disappointing from a hotel that claims to be 5-stars. The TV in the bar was cutting out the whole time, and it didn't seem that anyone was particularly interested in fixing the issue

We have to compliment Renee from the front desk, who was very efficient at checking us in.

In summary, The Cullinan might have been a 5-star hotel 10-15 years ago, but it is now seriously outdated and needs a major refurbishment.

Good but there is room for improvement
The shuttle service was not up to standards. They were not always on time and when it did arrive, it was full with passengers from another hotel. I would suggest getting a dedicated shuttle for each hotel over the peak periods.
I found it silly that we had to pay for parking, it was just R50 a day. Surely you can just take that from the accommodation price??? There was plenty of things for breakfast but the quality wasn't good, I think that can be improved on.

Very nice hotel, clean rooms, good breakfast, location is good, you are close to Waterfront and to other great sites around Cape Town, the only take I have and the reason I gave four stars and not five is that the cleaners will go through your stuff when they're cleaning the room and you are not there, I was warned ahead by a friend so I didn't leave anything worth stealing but still they shouldn't have open my personal hand bag and didn't even bother putting stuff back as neat as it was.

Was visiting an overseas friend who stayed here. Extremely friendly front house staff. If only their 500mgs of data limit could be upped to limitless as befitting a hotel of this calibre.

The grand sister to the Southern Sun Waterfront, being right next door, this hotel reminds you of the Roman Empire with high ceilings and pillars towering over the pool area and foyer. The rooms here are a tad more modern than Southern Sun Waterfront with silvers and whites being the main colors giving it that luxurious touch. It might cost a bit more but if you have guests not too keen on public areas filled with kids then this could be a good alternative. Although they do accept children, families will tend to go to Southern Sun Waterfront more than they come here.

Very lovely hotel. Clean polished spacious rooms, nice bathroom, large new TV, live music in the lobby in the morning, friendly door staff and reception, great bar, great location. I felt very welcome here.

Beautifully appointed rooms. Amazing buffet spread. The hotel taxi service to V&A is so well thought out. Very attentive hotel staff. Made our stay in cape town very memorable.

I think the feeling of hoping someone is filming me walking into the entrance hall overwhelmed me. I felt as if I was in a movie.the service, decor, architecturecourtyard is my favorite..(How many words do I get to use for this review) Its an amazing experience.

Great place and services. Close to local attractions (ie Waterfront). Safe area, and walking distance from almost all. I loved the breakfast as well.
