Nice old hotel, central to where I was working. Small room, but comfortable beds and plenty of really hot water. Coffee and muffin breakfast, friendly staff. All in all, a good value.

My wife and I returned today from the following fly/stay/cruise deal below by Cruise First and of course the stay was with the Wolcott Hotel.

We would like you to take on notice that we enjoyed this holiday immensely and it was value for money. The hotel was well situated and walking distance to a wide variety of interesting New York land marks.

The only negative was the service or lack of it at the Wolcott Hotel. We returned to the hotel admittedly at about 9.00pm and asked if we could get some hot water. We had our own tea bags and milk but our request was refused.

We have travelled to many countries and this was the first time we have ever been refused hot water. In fact every other hotel supplies it in the hotel room or you have access to tea and coffee 24/7 in the lobby. Many others on the same package deal expressed their dissatisfaction with this hotel. None of the staff went out of their way to assist and in my opinion had an abrupt abrasive manner. I would think twice about booking with this hotel again.
PS Only hotel in New York not to have free WiFi.

Absolutely gorgeous Beaux Arts hotel. Cozy lobby and rooms. Reasonably priced for Midtown. Friendly and accommodating staff. Would stay again.

Our stay at the Wolcott was wonderful. We only spent one night there, but everything was so comfortable. I did have some strange experiences with children laughing in the hallway only to not be able to find anyone around. There was also a strange man with a cane in the elevator who mysteriously disappeared. Considering we came to the Wolcott knowing we may have some encounters, I'd say it lived up to our expectations!

Good, clean room. Functional but dated. Spotless bathroom. As with every hotel in
New York City the room is small. Staggeringly beautiful lobby. Quick check-in and check-out. I'd stay there again because it's convenient to subway transportation and if the price was right.

From the moment we arrived after our flight from Manchester, England, we were treat with the utmost respect and kindness by all the staff. One of the gentlemen on reception, Mr Naeem Butt, was especially helpful on our last day, looking after our luggage & helping us to our taxi. Many thanks to all the staff for a lovely stay.

Hotel is great. Clean and nice rooms. Not the fanciest hotel but completely lovely and much nicer than the places I usually stay in NYC. Incredible location. I recommend!

Fantastic location. 24 hrs open bread and butter is right across the corner. The room seemed a little dated but was relatively clean. Bathroom was decent, not to small. WiFi isn't free.

One of NYC's "best kept secrets" for affordable hotel accommodations -- often as low as half the average price of most hotels in midtown Manhattan. Best of all, it remains a family owned and run hotel, one of the few left, as giant corporate chains have taken over the industry. This means very friendly service, from a dedicated staff who welcome you by name the second time you visit.

Also, a fascinating place in its own right. The over-the-top lobby has to be seen to be believed (check photos). And includes a little side-room "Museum" with mementos from famous former guests -- including Mark Twain, Edith Wharton and Buddy Holly.

Just not a good hotel. I - as a 6'4" man - somehow had three (not two) twin beds in my room. The shower could barely fit a dwarf, the sink was inaccessible because the towel bar was directly across from it. Hot (old AC units barely worked). Front desk staff was somewhat obtuse Historic, yes. Good, no.

Rooms clean and adequate but no kettle/ tea or coffee making facilities. Free tea n coffee n muffins offered between 6 n 9am daily. Downside: no dining room and no free wifi. Good location though.

The pricing was fair, and the room was nice. They provided muffins and coffee in the morning. Aside from that, they offered no other amenities. They lose a star because they continues to haggle for price changes each day.

Very historical building in the process of renovation. When this is finished I'm sure it will take it back to its former glory and this would definitely take it up to 4 stars for me. Ideally situated for exploring all the sights of new York. 10 mins to time square, empire state building two minutes around the corner.

Stayed here for three nights, nice clean hotel but it was very basic. Very good location. What I thought was very bizzare is that my contraceptive pill went missing out of the bathroom (in my toiletries bag) on the second day after the room had been cleaned??
