I am the ex girlfriend to the CEO of FitBit, and my husband is a double Ivy Leaguer, Rhodes Scholar, and professor here at UMich. Recently I was locked out of my apartment with my 1 year old son who had a fever of 103. I called the leasing office and a cruelly unpleasant man told me there was nothing he could do. TL;DR – Not the best quality, but not a totally unreasonable price. Great location (on 2 bus routes). Management’s not great. Website for paying rent is unusable. Apartment will be entered many time for inspections.

I lived here for one year and I have to say that I am not thrilled with the experience. When I moved in, the paint on our door was chipped and the washer and dishwasher were both broken. Maintenance responded quickly to finish the appliances, but it was an awful first impression.

When you sign your lease, management promises not to enter unless there is an emergency or the unit needs to be inspected. Our unit was inspected at least once a month it seems – far too often. The kitchen is very outdated and the cupboards were made of a wood that left debris on my dishes. The bedrooms are a bit drafty in the winter. In my last few months here, there was major construction going on at the intersection of Green and Nixon but we received only a brief e-mail about it. The monthly e-mails I received about their pizza nights were more detailed in comparison. Management was pushy about me turning over my keys. They e-mailed me 3 weeks before the end of my lease and made it sound like I should have moved out before then. Additionally, their new website (where bills are paid, maintenance requests submitted, etc.) is totally unusable – I have been worried that I would not be able to pay my rent in time, it’s so difficult to use.

There are a couple pros though. This complex is on 2 bus routes that get you to U of M’s campus reliably and it is very close to many shops and restaurants. Also, the closets are huge and you can store a lot of things in them. Rent is a little high for the quality, but I didn’t think it was totally unreasonable.

I would not recommend these apartments unless management makes some changes.

Excellent choice in Ann Arbor but rent has been consistently going up over the years, becoming almost as expensive as a mortgage for a condo or a good sized house. Been living here for 14 months now.

Pros - Very large walk-in closets for both bedrooms in Wedgewood floor plan, accent wall will be painted in a color of our choice at move-in, Service personnel are very quick, snow removal decent, Gym is well equipped and pool is quite big as well. Leasing office staff are also prompt. One carport is included in rent and it is pet-friendly.

Cons - Rent is getting expensive, although Ann Arbor is generally expensive compared to other places.

Nice clean apartments 5-10 minutes from downtown Ann Arbor. Facilities are clean, as is the pool. Easy access to multiple grocery stores.

Nice and peaceful community and almost like independent houses. Overall maintenance is good.

But amenities are limited -
Single tennis court for entire community, people end up waiting or leaving.
No other outdoor/indoor courts available.

Nice landscaping mostly on main lanes.

Play area is in pretty bad shape and very old.

Lived here for a year and a half and never had an issue with their staff, policies, or their maintenance. For the area the price is a bit high, but they provide a lot in return. I constantly saw improvements happening on the grounds and always encountered friendly and helpful staff.

I have lived at Windemere for 3 years and have been very happy. The grounds are well kept, snow removal is prompt, maintenance can usually address any non-urgent issues within 24 hours, the office staff are very pleasant and responsive. Highly recommended.
