This is a critics review. Not worth the hype. Food portions are small. OJ was a rip off. Regular size is smaller than kids cup!! I have posted a photo of the OJ we ordered. One of the ladies (maybe manager) who came to take away the empty OJ glasses asked if we were done with our "Cocktail" - they might have served our OJ in cocktail glasses. Coming to the kids meal, 7 fries and 4 carrots yes..you read that right. That is what you get with the kids meal. I ordered the falafel hummus wrap. Food was good but it is not worth $11. They also give you around 6 potato chips with your meal :). We were debating if we should order whiskey cake but given our experience so far, we passed on the dessert :). My wife's food was served on a brick. Must be something unique to this restaurant. Less dishes to wash I guess.

If ever you're even remotely close to this place you gotta check it out. The decor is great, the staff super friendly and helpful (our server was Tiffany) and the food is absolutely incredible. We were just here for the weekend and I'm already sad we live 2k miles away. Can't rate it highly enough, we split the chicken and waffles and short rib hash. The coffee infused old-fashioned was awesome too!

Had a great dinner experience! Our server, Peanut, was knowledgeable about the menu and attentive to our needs throughout the meal. The Old Fashioned was on point. The bacon and egg salad was so delicious - I didn't know such wonderful things could be done with kale. The whiskey cake was also delicious. The only complaint I had was that the local board didn't have enough bread/cracker/carbs so a lot of our local spreads went to waste.

The service is amazing, everyone is so nice and the food is incredible. Our waiter, Kevin was very nice and patient with us, and all of his recommendations were great. I had waffle and chicken and it was the best breakfast I’ve ever eaten at 4 PM. Everyone at my table loved their food, and we all wish we lived closer because it’s all amazing. Also the whiskey cake is a must.

The food was really good, but the service was even better! My server, Natalie, was super nice and very attentive. I had a really great time. She was very friendly with everyone at my table. You could tell she really likes working there. When I go back, because I will definitely go back I will ask to sit in Natalie's section. She's great!!

Really awesome food, and the Whiskey Cake is really really good. The menu isn't big but everything on it is artfully made. I recommend the chicken cheese melt or turkey burger. Friendly staff, usually not a long wait.

Usually go to 3 stacks in Frisco but wanted to try whiskey cake. Food was okay, but very expensive. Drinks and dessert were fairly priced and tasty. We won’t be coming back. Too pricey for average food. Service was good tho.

Locally sourced food makes a difference. Everything we ate was just so fresh and the flavors were delicately balanced so you could tastes each individual component in the dish. Local beer and a gargantuan list of 300 whiskey choices make this a great place to eat or just sit back and enjoy a drink at. Lastly, Whiskey Cake, don't think. Just get it. You will thank me later.

For being such a large restaurant they do not compromise on quality in the least. Every item is made from scratch and is locally sourced. I am not usually a fan of goat cheese but their goat cheese fondue has converted me.. Served with roasted tomatoes, garlic, olives, and fresh bread it is a delicious start to your experience (especially accompanied with a glass of wine or one of their mixed drinks).
And one simply cannot go to whiskey cake without trying the whiskey cake It is incredible.
Truly this place is perfect for any occasion- I would recommend sitting on the patio, it is a more quiet atmosphere and allows for nice conversation.response / report this review -

We had a great late lunch of deviled eggs with a chicken and corn filling, entrees and then the wonderful whiskey cake for desert. My husband had the bacon-infused waffles and chicken strips with sausage gravy and thought it was good. The gravy was not a white peppery gravy like he was expecting but still tasty. Only 2 chicken strips but enough food to fill him up without being over full. I had the chicken cheese melt and it was yummy. I brought half of it home so I wouldn't be uncomfortably full. The whiskey cake was amazing -- loved the candied pecans on top and the two different sauces. It does not taste like whiskey, in case you're wondering.

Excited to try this place - but we were given out dated menus and a waiters friend had to recruit the changes to EVERYTHING. My first, second and third options were all gone. Settle on the grits and they were goodbut not what I wanted. Nice atmosphere and cool trinkets inside. Not crazy impressed.

Our bartender, Flint, offered us some of the best service I have received in a long time. Incredibly friendly and made us feel at home, but still got everything to us very quickly. We came here for after dinner drinks and dessert and could not have been happier. The Belle Gras wine was delicious, and the Whiskey Cake could not have been better. Definitely will be coming back solely based on the service Flint gave us

So.. the bar and the drinks are great. Our service at the table was slow, had to be prompted to take our orders after we finished our apps. I ordered the short ribs and was came out looked and tasted like something from a cafeteria. Tiny amount of ribs was saddening. The crispy kale which was described on the menu, I assumed was kale chips, looked like they just threw some at it from across the room. The only good thing was the carrot-rutabaga mash. I ended up eating half of my wife's burger that was rather good. Still put off by the experience.

Hearing wonderful things about this place's namesake dessert, I decided to call ahead and pick up a single slice of whiskey cake to treat my wife on her birthday.
We kept it in the cooler until evening, then I microwaved the slice in its paper container for 1.5min. Sliced it in half, laid dollops of the accompanying sauce and whipped cream with each slice. AMAZING.
Will definitely try getting the dine-in experience next time!
NOTE: If you anticipate any more than 2 people eating whiskey cake, save yourself some money and buy an entire cake!! One slice of whiskey cake will definitely NOT feed more than 2 for dessert.response / report this review -

In all honesty I tend to steer clear from Whiskey Cake because it doesn't matter what day of the week it is, but every night after 5:30pm this place is slammed. However, I attended a work party here and found it pretty enjoyable. I love the decor - lighting is dark with a lot of bricks and wood logs though the noise volume is quite loud. Our meal started with a small salad that was pretty decent. We then had a set menu to choose from for entrees and I selected the Farm Bird which I absolutely loved. Each component was well thought out and the chicken was flavorful in addition to being cooked well. Our meal ended with the Whiskey Cake which I was surprised I enjoyed. Overall the service was decent. They seemed to have a hard time getting all the entrees out at a similar time. We were a little bothered that our table was cleaned so fast some gifts and a water bottle were lost in all the commotion. When we called Whiskey Cake the next day to inquire, they had no clue what we were talking about. More attention to detail would definitely bump up the customer service, but overall a great meal!
