Good food at decent prices - nothing really to complain about. Little pricey, but worth it.
Had our wedding here, to be fair, the service was good, very nice banquet hall and picturesque location. However, 3 weeks after our service Weissgerber's called us and claimed they had undercharged us $330. We had settled the bill the day of the wedding and as this seemed fishy to us we told them we would not pay. Well, Weissgerber's decided to put an unauthorized charge for the $330 on the debit card we had used to pay previously. That seems pretty fraudulent to me, but I'm not a lawyer. Anyway, food and ambiance was good, location and hall were great, but if you're planning an event maybe pay cash
After reading a number of poor reviews my expectations were fairly low, but they still managed to disappoint. The Sunday Brunch was mediocre and the service was terrible.
Though the dining room was less than half full, our server rushed us through each course, clearing plates when we were obviously still eating, and looking annoyed at every request.
The food was standard fare for a Sunday brunch and reasonably priced, but aside from the cheese blintzes nothing stood out as particularly good. It's a family-style brunch, meaning everything is served at the table, which sounds nice until you realize that it's intent is to ration certain items. The pastry basket was overflowing, but when it came to the NY Strip there wasn't even enough for everyone at the table to have a slice. When we asked for more the server gave us an incredulous look and eventually returned with three more thinly sliced pieces.
Had the service been better, this could have been be a respectable, 3 to 4 star brunch. But based on our experience, will definitely not be recommending the Golden Mast nor making a return visit.
Had a reservation for 1:30 for Mother's Day brunch and when we cheked in at 1:25 we were told it will be 15 mins before we would be called. It took 3 trips in and half hour later we were finally called in. People with no reservations were seated before us though. Food was great and plenty of it. The person carving the roast beef was very nice and wished me a Happy Mother's Day! Our server on the other had seamed tired, short, and not interested in being there.
My wife and I, along with some good friends, ate here for dinner last night because some of our other friends were playing their guitar/cello in the bar. The restaurant decor is really great - very European, with an outstanding view of the lake.
Three of us had the steamed and fried cod. The fish was done very well, and the side items (potato salad, coleslaw, fries and potato pancakes) were excellent. The only item that wasn't to par was the tartar sauce (bland).
Wife and I shared the escargot (very good), and wife also had a bowl of the clam chowder, which she said wasn't very hot, but enjoyable.
You can tell from the bar that it is a place that gets a lot of regulars, which is always a good sign.
It is certainly a higher-priced restaurant, but I'd definitely go there again.
I went on a double date with friends for prom to the Golden Mast. It was such a great experience!!! The our waitress was very polite, friendly, and attentive to our table even she had many other people to serve. The Atmosphere was fantastic!!! The table was well set and looked profession in every detail along with the room we were in. The food is a little expensive which is pretty much the only thing I wasn't crazy over. Do not get me wrong though the meal came with a salad or soup which was really nice. Everyone in my party including me absolutely had great food! Plus it came really fast. Overall it is a great place and I would recommend it to anyone!
