A Saugatuck Staple. Nowhere else will you find Lake Perch like they have at Wally's. The inside/outside seating area is one of the best in all of Southwestern Michigan and the staff/owners are some of the best around.

It's a great place to grab a quick bit, if your in the Michigan area. Outdoor seating with good weather. It's a local bar-pub with great food and drink. Michigan beer served as well. Friendly service, with a laid back atmosphere. Beautiful area as well. Lots of small local shop's,.

When you're in Saugatuck Wally's is a must. Best fried perch ever!! Whitefish dip is a must too.

The female bartender ignored me for 20 minutes. There were maybe 10 people sitting at the bar, and 15-20 elsewhere. It seemed intentional. At one point there were 4 people behind the bar and still no service. I understand that it is the odd season and I am not a regular, unfortunately I never will be with their lack of service. A male bartender finally helped me.

Good place. Jackie is my best friend. Just ask her! Always interesting. Woman had never said a kind word about me and we like it that way. Has my drink ready and always something sassy.

I've been coming here for 15 years and always had a great experience, but my family of 12 and I won't be returning. I walked in with a cup of water, and instead of asking me to throw it away or walk outside with it, the owner ripped it out of my hands and threw it in the trash and yelled at me "you can't have that here." The person that was taking my reservation wasn't shocked by her unnecessary aggression and told me she's been getting "crankier" lately. I didn't think much of it and kinda laughed about it with the people sitting at the bar that witnessed it. She walked back by and I very calmly asked her to next time politely ask me to throw it away or step outside rather than snatching it away from me like I was a toddler. Her response, word for word, "I don't have to do anything you tell me to, you don't know the laws clearly and I don't have to listen to you, I'm the owner." I told her that I understand completely but that she could have been nicer about it especially since I was coming in to spend money for 12 people at her restaurant. She got in my face and said, "ok leave then, BYE, BYE, BYE, BYE, LEAVE, BYE!"
Everyone in the restaurant was staring at us while she was yelling at me. I've never felt more embarrassed and awkward in public before, especially for something I didn't deserve. Another family that was leaving came up to me and said she had been "crabby" all day and that she shouldn't have acted that way. She lost us as a customer and frightened several othersabsolutely unreal.response / report this review -

Wally's is the best bar in Saugatuck. The food is classic bar food. The atmosphere in summer is touristy with the outside seating.

The most unfriendly staff ever!! they were so rude and stuck up!. They treated me like i was low class. My friend and I felt like outsiders. The bartender was washed up and had a nasty personality. I couldn't believe you would treat customers this way! I will make sure I share my bad experience as much as I can to let people know not to go here.

My friend and i went it. Came from Saugatuck Brewery to see what it was all about. Was told i was fake by the bartender for being too happy. The only friendly thing in that bar was the music. This was our first time there and her and I felt very mistreated. We will never go there again and i will make sure when i am asked about this place in will glady share my experience.

My wife, son and I went here today on my sons advice. We were celebrating his birthday. I had the full perch dinner and my wife and son had the half dinner. The perch was excellent and the dinners all had large portions of perch. Great value and the staff was very nice!
