This hotel is definately CLOSED. It was a great hotel but unfortunately it has now been converted to a shelter for women. Not sure why google keeps displaying it as a valid hotel?

    DO NOT STAY HERE
Me and my friends got a room here for120 and 100$ down. Cash only n no receipt. We got up to the room n 15 minutes later there are 6 people (managers n security) banging on my door yelling "get the f out" accusing us of smoking. When the security guard said she didn't smell it the owner sent her away. He was scamming us for our money. Even w all efforts we didn't get a dime back! And we were only there for 15 min!!!! The manager hid in the back n wouldn't speak to us. Security said we should have called the police I wish we did. Also if you call n ask for a manager they lie and say he isn't there when he is.

This hotel is as stated before. Clean, spacious rooms. Mini fridge, microwave, and a Kurig coffee maker. We had a king with a sofa bed for the kiddos. There was a door there to give you two rooms, so you have even more privacy! Beds are comfy, and clean. Accommodating, friendly and helpful staff. We needed extra cushion for the sofa bed, and even though the gentleman at the front desk could not get an extra mattress, he got us multiple comforters. They worked so well, we didn't need the extra mattress. Two city blocks from the subway. It is a sketchy part of town, but most of the locals were kind or ignored us. The staff even offered my husband an umbrella to borrow in a bad storm. Top notch staff. I would stay here again.
The only negative is the deli on the corner one block from The Verve. I do not speak Spanish, but I understand enough. I walked in the store, and stood at the counter, waiting my turn. The customers started saying "oh no". "We don't want them to start coming here". This establishment, and the local customers frightened my 7 year old daughter with their angry voices and shaking their heads. I am a polite southern lady, who is raising my children to love and respect all people regardless of race, color or creed. My daughter turned to me and said "Mommy I'm scared. Can we please leave and never come back here." I left reluctantly, because I'm also a little scrappy. As I walked out a customer yelled "What's wrong mama? You don't like it here?" Can't remember the name. They have a turquoise canopy. Moral of the story, they don't want you, or your money. They don't like children either.

No idea why so many folks have left 1 star reviews, but our experience was just fine. For the price, it was a great value. Easy walk to several subway lines, and while the room wasn't gorgeous and did feel a little dated, it was clean and more than simply adequate. Hotel staff was courteous and friendly. Frankly, I'm surprised why it doesn't sell out for the price and proximity to the city.

I'll admit I was slightly worried about staying here due to some of the reviews I read. I, however, didn't have a single complaint! Three of my friends and I were going to see the city for the first time and chose this location as it was only a subway ride away and the cheapest we could find in the surrounding area. The hotel clerk the day we got there was extremely helpful with directions and recommendations. Our room was immaculate and on the sixth floor there was a beautiful view of the city. The continental breakfast was good, too. Not the best I have ever had, but definitely better than most! I would absolutely stay here again.

Stayed here for two nights Sat-Mon. Great service. The room was nice, clean, and up to date. Very cleanliness. There is a parking garage under the hotel which was $25 per night. The only complaint I had was they are strict on having guests over. Our room rate was a two person maximum, and they made a big deal about us having two guests in the room that weren't even sleeping over, just visiting before we went out for the night. Would be nice if they had microwaves in the room, but they had a fridge and plenty of drawers/closet space for us to unpack our things. Check-out is at 11 and we were late checking out at almost 12:30pm which they charged us an extra fee for. Overall I would definitely stay at this hotel again for the price we paid.
