Located in a small Plaza. Pretty regular grocery store, really close to the WSU campus. They do run bi weekly ads so you can save some money during your visit. The deli on the side is also pretty good and cheap.
They didn’t have promotions or good deals on food it was pricey. I would rather go to Whole Foods and purchase good quality products since the prices are the equal. But the staff was nice and polite.
The place looks very decent and seems bustling. I had some Greek Pasta Salad that I didn't think had any meat in it. I think it had chicken in it but it was too late.
A store where you can get your grocery shopping done and a hot dinner for the family. Whether its pizza, shawarma's, fried chicken its all delicious and don't forget about desert. Their banana pudding I swear is like my grandma is in the back making a batch. There's always a sale so expect great prices when you come to shop. And talk about service with a smile its like you're family when you're here.
Lots of parking, and fruits and vegetables at a reasonable price. Also some cooked foods.
Good with some caveats. For the most shopping is a decent experience until you get to the cashiers. Either they have an attitude, or they are inept or a combination of both. With some good cashiers this store could be something special.
Place recently had a face lift, is by Wayne state university. Has real nice deli counter/ hot foods. Decent prices.
I really like the vegetarian and organic options! The excellent owner, Norman, is very courteous and hard working. Steve, one of the great, hard working, and courteous representatives at this store, along with Norman, both seem to help 100's and 100's of customers all day long and always with a great attitude! University Foods has been a dedicated store in Detroit for a Very long timeEven when other stores ignored our city. Thank you University Foods Team! Clean neighbor grocery store. Not a huge selection of baked goods ( there is not a bakery in the store) but you can get sushi and there is a hot foods counter.
The prepared/cooked food area upon entrance is delicious. Don't sleep on the pizza, soup, and garlic chicken wraps.
A little pricey but the preparred food is good like the seafood pasta and peach cobbler.
When you walk in you can smell the stench from the meat section. That is NOT ok. I go in here maybe once every two years if I'm an absolute bind And every single time of that I do into the store I am apalled at the smell. Definitely do not recommend this store to anyone. I truly believe the only reason they're still in business is because there are people in the area who do not have cars and this is the only grocery store within walking distance
I love going on picnics. And with such tasty selections that have fresh fruit. Good meats to grill up while on the go. And they have a hour foods spot for quick bits!
