The food is always amazing. They also make their own barbecue sauces, I recommend their hell sauce, it's hot with plenty of flavor to go around. Their wings are fabulous, a little pricey, but the Nashville style wings make you forget all about it. Try the fried pickles, they're so good.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed here yet, this is such a great place. Servers are pretty nice and the food is to die for. Also always get a st. Germaine special! It's such a delicious drink and will get you tipsy in one drink! The reason for my 4 stars is because, on multiple visits, I've been stopped from going into the bathroom because the employees think I'm waiting for the wrong bathroom. Not even in a nice way. I understand I am very androgynous, but I can read the sign by the bathroom door? Also they are one toilet bathrooms, so even if I used the wrong one. no one else is in there so. should probably just leave whoever is waiting for the bathrooms to their business.they probably know what they're doing.

The food was very good and we wanted to leave 5 stars but the problem was the server not paying attention while taking our orders. We asked for onion rings to come out with our breadsticks. When no onion rings showed up and we could finally ask where they were, she stated she didn't hear us. She did keep running by our table to make sure our drinks were full but never stayed long enough for us to ask a question. Also, it was too dark in there. We are senior citizens and could barely read the menu. But, the food was excellent.. The food we do give 5 stars.

This is a great place. On a busy Friday night we just had to wait 15 minutes to get a table. We used the time to have a nice little margarita at the bar.
You get great food here and excellent service in a nice atmosphere. The fantastic burgers can be ordered with gluten free buns which was important to me. Also the variety of the gf menu is amazing. All in all it was a perfect night.response / report this review -

Good service, Good food, good time, good atmosphere. The little gift shop, sitting area, and Game Area that are upstairs is a really cool feature as well. My only complaint was the drinks were a little too expensive, seems to be the trend in this area go. I would love to try the pork in the burrito, on a Cuban sandwich.. make it happen ;)

We love this place. From the laid back bar area upstairs to the pizza, wings, burgers and all the other awesome food they serve. We haven't had a bad experience or dish. The wait is usually long, especially on the weekends. Just come prepared for that. Go upstairs have a drink and relax. The food is worth it.

Delicious! Finally made my way over here. I got the beef brisket with mac & cheese and shop tots. Everything was so good and service was excellent even though they were rather busy. Can't wait to go back.

I really think this place encourages it's wait staff to be mechanical and cold. Friendly wait staff bring people back.
A couple of years ago, I ordered one drink and was given the next step up without notice and charged a substantially higher price for it. The manager that day not only defended this, but told the waitress that he was too busy to talk to me when I asked. I had to tell her that I was not going to pay my bill unless the manager would speak to me first, in order to get him out.
I haven't had any experience that bad lately, but I haven't been impressed by anything, either.response / report this review -

I was late to my party due to parking so I couldn't comment on how long the wait was but this place was completely filled with people. All of the staff was extremely nice and fun. The food was good and the portions were huge. The prices were equally huge but my only complaint was one mixed drink with one shot of standard alcohol cost $10 but with alcohol it's always up in the air. The entire building was also roasting due to the compact seating and constantly filled seating areas. All in all a good experience.

Great service, delicious food, nice selection on menu, reasonable pricing, ambiance of a old time restaurant. Good crowd for a Thursday evening before the concert at DTE. Our food was brought out fairly quick and was as ordered. The sauce selection for the barbecue was excellent. The food was very tasty although the ribs were a bit dry. Pizza was yummy. I recommend this as a nice place to enjoy a bite to eat.

I think this place has one of the best bbq in Michigan. The atmosphere is very lively. The only draw back is the wait time at nights. They do have an awesome wait area upstairs to order drinks and play games.

Fun place, good service, nice beer selection, pulled pork was awesome did not even need BBQ sauce. Bread was good, pizza was just okay, mac and cheese was very greasy. It was a good time but I don't see us going here on a regular basis. Price was average as was the value for your cash.

Great food and environment. There is ALWAYS a long wait, which is helpful when trying out whatever new brews they have on tap, upstairs. :) Went with 4 and a highchair at 5pm and waited 45 minutes. Not bad at all.

My husband and I love this restaurant. We are from Lake Orion but every few weeks make it a point to visit the Union Woodshop. There is normally a wait on weekends but because of the nice bar area upstairs we typically don't mind. We go upstairs and have a drink while we wait. If you like chicken wings, theirs is a must try. While family visited lately they commented that the wings here are the best they've ever had, and we agree. You can't go wrong with the Woodshop 101, the burrito, or their burgers. Onion rings are excellent. It's one of those places that you have to make yourself stop eating so be sure to bring your appetite.

Walking into Union Woodshop immerses you in a charming downtown building filled with character. The magic is in the details, from the candles at each table to the classic BBQ staples such as brown paper runners and a variety of sauces at each table. The wait staff is charming and relaxed, with a genuine, down-to-earth attitude towards the restaurant's primary focus, the food.
