Great golf course but they water their sand traps. Unbelievable all sand traps are full of water. And it hasn't rained in a couple days
Nice course. Good mix of tight and open fairways. Some large greens on a couple holes. Had a good time golfing here.
A very beautiful course and challenging as well. Cart path could use some attention since we was dodging holes. But all in all I will play here again when the opportunity comes up again.
The green parts of this course are beautiful, it's a shame the cart paths and sand traps are in such horrible condition.
The cart paths hold enough water after it rains to create mini ponds that swallow golf balls. The potholes will bounced you around so hard it actually hurts my back.
The sand traps are packed hard and full of small stones that can damage clubs.
These two problems turn this course into a nightmare.
This course gets 3 stars because the fairways and the greens are well maintained and play very well.
One of my favorite tracks. Want to play a course that has enough water to make you sweat with errant shots, a course for those who don't have the length of a pro, this place is for you. A scorers dream. Don't let the length fool ya--the greens are sloped/undulating enough to be a fun yet very challenging. Course is always in fine shape. The staff are courteous & friendly. I like the fact that their practice facility has a bunker, and a chipping green that is sloped/slightly elevated to practice side hill chips. And the fact that I can enjoy that cold one OUTSIDE also adds to why it's among my favorite golf courses.
Well maintained course with great staff.
A friend had a wedding here, it was beautiful.
Nice Job. Friendly Staff, DJ, Catering. A One-Stop Professionally Managed Merrage Service, and a lot more. Right next to their Golf Course. Cudo's .. ..
The course itself is in fantastic condition. Greens are immaculate. Cart paths could be better, but at least your not hitting off of them.
Can't beat the price, either.
Golden Hawk has become one of my favorite golf courses for a number of reasons:
PRICE: between my Senior discount and the additional discount I get with my Vargo Tour Card -- it's downright cheap to play there.
COURSE & CONDITION: The condition of the course has improved dramatically since Vargo took over. It's a short, fun course, with plenty of challenging holes -- I especially like #'s: 1, 5, 6, 9, 10, 14, 15, 17 & 18 -- and for the last 2-years the course has been kept in immaculate condition.
DRAWBACK: The only drawback to playing there, currently, is the condition of the cart paths. They're not in good shape and something needs to be done.
BAR: They've got a nice (and growing) beer selection (IPA’s, Stouts, etc) -- and while I rarely eat there, my friends tell me that the food is very good.
STAFF: I enjoy the staff (very friendly) from the Pro Shop to the people working on the course, the drink cart 'girls' – all the way to the bar/restaurant staff. They’re friendly & helpful people – I enjoy being around them.
Thanks Golden Hawk for giving me such a great golf experience right here in my own back yard. See you soon.
