Was seen quickly and the nurses and other staff were kind, but the two doctors who were there in the 7 hours I spent there barely spoke to me. One never did, and Dr. McGee only came into my room when I threatened to leave and when he did he was the most arrogant doctor I’ve ever encountered. It took an average of three hours for blood work results, and I finally ended up discharging against medical advice and going to Excela. I was billed more than $7k - $1k for every hour I spent alone laying in a hospital bed awaiting blood work results - and ultimately received no diagnosis nor treatment for my problem.

Awful experience. My grandmother was in patient here for about a week. Did not encounter one single competent nurse, or one that was not lazy and full of excuses as to why they could not do their job. It was extremely sad so witness. My grandmother is 84. She was given a terminal diagnosis while there. She also fell while there and broke a bone in her back. They would not control her pain at all whatsoever. It was extremely difficult to watch how she was treated there. Also extremely sad to see healthcare as a whole at such low quality. There used to be a "standard of care" we used to be proud of our nurses. "Nurse" used to be a respected profession. I could not have been more disappointed. We are truly headed to scary times if our care in entrusted to these kind of "professionals"

Sitting in the emergency room for 4 hours. They have no rooms, people on strechers in the hallways, ambulances from everywhere coming in.
Just told a patient no rooms.
Sad they put money into Braddock hospital then torn it down. This is the only hospital around in the area. Hospitals in Mkeesport & Jefferson, Pittsburgh.
It a nice hospital with free garage parking, nice design of building it and placing it. Looks nice in and out with nice views. Just slow staff.

I wrote a review of how my night started at Forbes and I left and came to UPMC East. We were greeted and signed in right away but there was a long wait time. The Nurse Karly was fabulous she first got my stats and my info and shortly after called me back to draw blood and a urine sample so I wouldn't have to wait a long time for them to come back after I got a bed. I got more service in the waiting room at East than I did with the entire staff available at Forbes. Sitting in their waiting room I found out I was not the only patient that had left Forbes that night for the same reasons. The staff was busy but always Tentive and friendly and willing to help. The reason I have 4 starts is the bathrooms were terrible and even after I brought it to the attention of the cleaning crew it didn't get cleaned. 1 stall for a whole room of sick people was not well thought out. Karly herself deserves to be recognized though for her fabulous service and you could just tell that she really cared about her patients. Way to go!

If I could give 0 stars, I gladly would. UPMC has got to be the worst health care system ever. I thought they couldn't get worse until I went to UPMC East. The staff is rude, the nurses are useless, and the doctors are not informative at all. My visit was greeted with nothing but laziness. If someone is telling you that they have a problem, it shouldn't be ignored. The doctor I had pretty much didn't do anything. He was rude, arrogant, and never let me finish my sentences. He basically insulted m e and based everything off of appearances. I wish I was making this up, but I really experienced this. I think from now on I will stick with the AHN. I have never left the emergency room feeling worse than I did before. The entire process just made me feel so uncomfortable. Never again. Do yourself a favor and skip it.

Also, this is directed toward the emergency room. I will give credit where it is due. My grandmother was recently kept here and had perfect service. They treated her nicely and she was very happy and pleased with her visit. Her doctor, Ann was absolutely amazing. She is about the only salvageable thing about this place. I would definitely recommend her to everyone. Timothy and David were also really nice guys. Very respectful.

Rude staff , got taken to this hospital by EMS they made me walk home , in the dark plus rain they did not help me get home I would never fu**ing go back , they will hear from my attorney

Was transferred from Presbyterian hospital in Oakland. Been in a lot of hospitals. Just had my fourth brain surgery and really didn't want to go. Best treatment I ever had in a hospital!

I came to the er today in I arrived at 7:30 pm in I wasn't see or called back til 10 plus I just had a horrible experience with this rude doctor name doctor Vipul Garg, first of all I have sickle cell anemia in I'm having a crisis on top of that I have a bad cold with the tummy virus but anyway every doctor know you're supposed to check blood levels to make sure I don't need to be admitted in but I think she's another one sickle cell anemia racist who think we're out for one damn thing which is iv pain meds which the witch is wrong. I'm sick of ignorant witch so I'm going to have to report her

Excellent and courteous staff. Very knowledgeable about my migraines and did everything in their power to infuse me with the proper medicine. I will be making this my hospital for now and share with family. Feeling better already. Thank you!

Sat in the ER waiting room from 7:30 pm until 10 pm. Finally get into a room, within 10 minutes the PA is examining me and telling me they are going to run some tests. At 10:30 they start an IV and give me something for nauseousness and my discomfort, at 11 I have to ring for the nurse because the IV was done, nurse came in took it down and said we are waiting for your turn in CT. Midnight I get wheeled I to CT, 5 mi items later back in my room, I fall asleep, nurses start coming in taking out carts and restocking the cabinets. Not a word to me. 1:30 PA comes in to tell me they found nothing and I will be discharged in 10 to 15 minutes. I am typing this from my phone from the same ER room and it's now 2:40 am. 25 minutes ago I hit the call button for the nurse and asked to get my discharge papers and the IV taken about and the nurse came vack and said your nurse is busy and I will tell her. About to walk out of here with IV still in my arm.
