I was just "released" from the hospital, went in because my bp was 235/115 at home. Got to the er and it was 94/55. They took my upstairs. Anyways,im a diabetic and they were NOT treating me as such. My blood sugars were over 350 and they were feeding me a high cab diet. In the morning i am to get a 24 hour insulin atleast by 9am. Didnt get it until 3pm when dischared with a sugar level over 400 claiming they didnt know i got it in the am. I told them this and i am no stranger to forbes. I am planning to file a lawsuit because of this and other inactions by the doctors and staff.

DO NOT GO TO FORBES. I was admitted to the psychiatric ward in early September of 2016 because I was suffering from depression. The day I was admitted, I could tell that something was wrong about this hospital. I was in a vulnerable state of mind. However, I was NOT delusional. I never have been. When I arrived at Forbes hospital in early September, I was treated very poorly by the staff almost immediately. Later the first day of my admittance, I was physically abused and beaten by a staff member. This was a rage beating. He violently attacked me out of anger He pulled me Into a room and roughly beat me into the ground while squeezing my throat so I couldn’t breathe as if to keep me quiet. He punched me repeatedly in the arm and rib cage. I was screaming for help and nobody came to see what was going on. He then violently restrained me to a bed where I spent the rest of the night. He took photos of me on his cellphone while laughing and mocking me in the bed. He even went as far as to threaten my life. I was scared for my life the entire night as I was alone in a room with him. No employees came to check up on me. The man who beat me had somehow managed to talk them into letting him stay in there with me I believe so that he could keep me quiet. The hospital admitted to this being against their rules later on. There are supposed to be two employees in the room at all times when somebody is restrained. About a month later, I decided to call and inform the hospital of the abuse and mistreatment. When I initially spoke to a woman in HR, she told me that she was very sorry this happened and would make sure to investigate it as soon as possible. She assured me she would contact me back in a week but never did so. After several days, I decided to call back and check up. When I talked to her for the second time, I found out that she had only begun to investigate and wasn’t taking this seriously. Her and I then arranged for me to come and meet with the manager and director of the deprartment. At the meeting, I came to find out that the man who physically and mentally abused me had denied any of this happening. He told his managers that's he only restrained me and blamed it on my mental condition. This was a lie. Never should an employee violently attack a patient. My arm and rib cage were very sore for weeks. I had bruising which the nurse on the floor had seen immediately after the beating. One witness who was a maid, saw my attacker aggressively pull me into a room and shut the door. She had written a statement. Also, when I asked about this being captured on survelience cameras, was told that nobody was monitoring them at the time. The director admitted that this was also was another rule that was broken. However, after reading through the written statements, the director of the unit assured me he would deny it ever happening. All of the hospital staff and even the director covered this up. They were very hostile with me. At one point during the meeting, the DIRECTOR of the psychiatric unit threatened to kick me out while I was explaining what happened. He did not want to believe me and accused me of “talking over him”. He refused to listen to me tell my truth because he was afraid of it hurting the hospital’s reputation. When I mentioned I would speak to a lawyer, the director became very irritated and told me that since there is no evidence to prove this happened and it would not be worth “wasting my time” and he would have to end the meeting. He told me to let it go. Disgusting. How can I let go? It was clear he was protecting his department because he knew what happened to me was illegal. What happened to me at this hospital was horrible. Never in a million years would this have happened to me if it weren’t for the corrupt criminal they hired as an employee. I have not spoken out about this publicly until now. It is something that has greatly affected me. I cannot keep this to myself. This hospital is unjust and should be shut down. Some employees are morally corrupted and DISTURBED.

I've only been here twice both times I had to wait extremely long times to be treated. The last time I had to wait about 4 hours for what I thought was a tick bite. I had to go through 3 or 4 people before seeing a doctor and had to wait long periods of time in between. It wasn't even busy that night ether. It turned not to be a tick yet they still billed my insurance $400. The staff is obviously very lazy maybe a few are hard workers. I will no longer set foot in this disgraceful place again. From now on I will be going to Westmoreland Hospital for any emergency treatment even though it is a half an hour away vs 15 minutes from my house. I will not be disappointed after the demise of AHN by its competitors.

Don't waste your time. Currently sitting here with my fiancé after a game of frisbee. She happened to land at an angle after catching it, which hurting her knee.
We showed up (7pm) and state what we think is wrong. An acl tear (she's had multiple hyper extending issues, so she knows the difference).
So what they do is have us sit, send multiple people in who complain to me about being hungry and can't wait to leave, then take X-rays (X-rays do not show ligaments, muscle, or tendons, mainly bone). And the doctor comes in, feels her knee, and says "it's probably a torn acl or mcl, you'll have to go to an orthodontist" without even seeing the X-rays. Which makes it obvious that they knew we were wasting our time and money. There's a reason this place has the worst reviews. You've been warned.

I was here for labor and delivery. It was the best care I have ever gotten. I had a nurse named suzenette. She was awesome, she helped me thru the contractions and the epidural, and giving birth to my beautiful son. I had to drive there from Johnstown, Pa because conemaugh hospital had turned me down to take care of me thru the process of having my son. I am glad they did because I couldn't of been anymore happier with my care that Forbes have given me. I will continue to go to Forbes for the future babies :) Thank you soo much for the great care!

I went into the ER there was not another patient on the whole floor. It was literally just staff standing around so they took me right back. I got a gown on and a student came in right away to assess me. I was told the doctor would be right in. There was an ambulance that came in and they had to attend to that situation first. which is completely understandable.. I had 2 kidney stones and a kidney infection I was in the most pain I had ever experienced. Not a nurse nobody came in after waiting and waiting and eventually my mom went out and asked if we could get some assistance because I was so sick and in pain. They still didn't send anyone in we decided to wait 15 minutes more and then we left. We went to East and even though they were packed and on a 2.5 hour wait I got more service in their waiting room than I did with 15 staff members available at Forbes. I was incredibly disappointed at the treatment and lack of treatment I received.

I would NEVER EVER use this hospital. Doctors & Nurses are horrible. NONE of them should be doctor's & nurse's. Unbelievable how they treated & took care of my love one. They made them worse then when they went in. This hospital should be investigated especially the doctor's.

Excellent care! I had a major abdominal ileostomy reversal done here on May 24th and was in Forbes for 11 days. I had the original emergency surgery at a big box hospital downtown and Forbes was hands down above and beyond. Anesthesia took the time to listen to me before the surgery and accommodated my requests. The nurses were not only compassionate and well educated they acted as my advocate to get the extra care that I needed when I was too weak to direct my own. The radiology department was gentle and very patient with me. The dietary hostess when I was finally able to eat was extremely helpful in picking foods that would pass through easily. I live in the North Hills of Pittsburgh and was glad I went to Forbes for my procedure. - David

I was alone in a room with him the entire night as no other employee came in to check up on me. The hospital even admitted to this being against their rules. There are supposed to be two employees in the room at all times when somebody is restrained. When I called to inform the hospital of this happening, they sided with the man who beat me. The man who abused me denied any of this happening. He lied and told his managers that's he only restrained me and blamed it on my mental condition. THIS WAS COMPLETELY WRONG. I met with the manager of the deprartment shortly after, and he basically insured me that even though he knew it happened, he would deny it. The hospital staff and even director of the unit covered it up though there was written evidence it happened. They were very hostile with me and even threatened to kick me out of the meeting when I was explaining what happened: This was not taken seriously by any of the staff. They refused to be nice and look into the incident for fear of their company suffering any losses. I have not spoken about this until now. This hospital is absolutely unjust and the employees are morally corrupted and DISTURBED. You will be mistreated and they will deny it happening. NEVER admit yourself or a family member to Forbes in Monroeville.

Why no option for 0 stars?!?! I was involved in a head on collision where I was rushed in an ambulance after being pulled out of the totalled vehicle. My left knee had suffered immensely as I could only see a hole in my pants and skin hanging from it. I was placed on a stretcher in the pouring rain and finally put in an ambulance where none of their vital machines were working. After arriving they performed an MRI which shown a hole in my left knee so immediately I was placed under Anastasia and woke up with an immobilizer on my leg. Also a drain was placed above the knee. During my stay I had no help whatsoever going to the bathroom, was laying in dirty pads for days if I didn't fix myself or my family visitors. They released me with one attempt of getting me out of bed to try using a walker or crutches. They neglected to finish with me and I never had any stability help when leaving the hospital. I couldn't bend my left knee. It was diagnosed a left knee laceration. What I had to determine myself was that my knee had totally hyperextended to the point of it blasting open. The doctor has completely neglected me since I missed an MRI due to sickness from what I was concerned is a parasite. My girlfriend and I were both showing signs of some kind of infestation. We visited the E.R. twice since my surgery on March 1st with this issue and my just-healing wound across my knee was never examined or even taken into consideration. I gave a stool sample filled with worms and the test was negative. I am deathly afraid there is something infested inside of me and my knee is going to suffer. Some parasites are only detected if ever in blood, MRI'S, CT scans.I am hoping there is no underlying issues in my knee which was neglected to be checked up by my surgeon. And was made out to be a joke by the front desk staff and secuirty. Let alone the fact that I am afraid I am sick with a parasite with a newly healed wound which could have even highly possibly came from the filthy hospital when I was there in March. There were larvae looking creatures in the ER bathroom facility which were also infested outside of the hospital. All along the sides of the building were infestation. I moved back to my hometown in Philadelphia and plan on further investigation to avoid suffering anymore and being neglected and misdiagnosed. Hopefully my knee at age 30 will one day be somewhat normal again. Forbes is a filthy, ill-equipped and MI's- knowledgeable facility.

Here today! First one in line for blood work..receptionist registers everyone and I guess.then she is a porter too.
Just my luckshe had to wheel a patient to another floor. The line grew longerThen a lady from the office came out and took the lady behind me!!!! Good thing I asked about my ID And insurance cardturns out the ignorant lady from the office registered the lady behind me instead of taking us in orderthen proceeded to take the rest of the people!!!! WTHeck? If hadn't asked for my ID, I would still be sitting there. So much for arriving early to get get out early.
Was this lady stupid, prejudice, or just down right ignorant! Hmmmmm
I ended being first anyway because the receptionist ended up registering megood thing they have a number system. I was number 5! Last I checked 5 comes before 6.

I was recently here for a few days and the experience is almost indescribable. I saw numerous health code violations (a bag of feces covered towels in my room when I arrived, not removed for almost an entire day), medical waste on the floor outside my room for hours. The staff was not helpful at best and downright rude and physically and verbally abusive at other times. I was called mean names and actually physically pushed by an orderly. My medication was given to me improperly and at the wrong times, even after repeatedly telling them about it. Their doctors are young and inexperienced, and were downright insulting. These are just a few of the things that happened to me during my stay there this past weekend. Do not seek treatment at this facility - they are not properly trained or qualified to provide quality care to patients.

The emergency room staff and Dr. Dougan is amazing. He did my surgery and has the best bed-side manners. Taking care of me and my family, plus saving my life from a major internal bleeding. My nurses on floor 5 have been excellent! I was a bit nervous based on overall reviews of Forbes, but my experience was super!
