They were kind, courteous and did a great job coming to our house and helping my husband who couldn't get out of bed. He had great bedside manner, developed a game plan for us to follow up on and had medication on him so we didn't have to make a separate trip to the pharmacy.

The facility is beautiful & well taken care of. The parking is great, and the location is conveniently right off the highway. The services offered are stellar and priced reasonably.

They don’t listen to anything that is told to them. Doctors will not call or come see the caretaker for the patient. Have provided updates all week via phone but now will not because I do not have a password the patient set. The patient had a stroke and hasn’t been coherent all week, nobody has bothered to mention this to me every time I have been there and now it is an issue when I call to check on them? I should have sent her to St Vincents where they treat you like a human being and not a case study.

First off. The medical staff is amazing, the nurses in particular. Very compassionate. They did not hold anything back, even when it hurts. The nurses did everything possible to be there for anything we needed.
The non medical staff however, that is another story. These people should not be allowed to work with a stapler, much less people in pain and their families. Virus or not, getting into seeing see if your son is dead or alive should not take 20 minutes and 3 phone calls.
Not to mention that in the 3 days we have been here there have been 3 different sets of rules.
Just be aware that even when your loved one is in the IUC, being kept alive for days so that they may donate their organs to save others, YOU are an inconvenience to someone who replied to a help wanted poster. Wow, just wow.

The nurses and housekeeping is amazing. I can't possibly deny the hard working and amazing nurses and kitchen staff. But. Everyone else is just rude and cares nothing for someone who has a tumor and seizures to boot. And the only reason I'm giving them a second star, is for those hard working and dedicated nursing and kitchen staff.

Did not like it . We were there for a week. Almost the whole time my husband stayed in pain. Most nurses were not very good but a few were great Amber Chappell was a very caring person. Then when we left we had to pay $46.00 for parking. Crazy the hospital should of took care of it. We had to be there. On top of that someone stole our tags. Even Dockers weren't great

UAB hospital has saved my life an uncountable number of times. St. Vincent hospital almost killed. But with God directing these Dr.'s hands I am still alive to tell my story. From 2005 til present I have been well taken care of and I would recommend them to everyone. I continue to be a constant patient of there's. The staff is out of this world and I give a thumbs up anytime.

The worst experience I’ve ever had at an ER. The staff was fine when we first arrived but i guess we asked them how much longer one too many times. Of course we have been here for over 9hrs so asking every three hours seemed exceptable to me. They keep telling us there are no rooms available, which I find hard to believe, but several of us sitting here have been here for 7-9hrs. Here goes 10hrs. Maybe they’ll see us some time this week

Have sat in the er for over four hours with my friend who has an immune disease and is having chest pains and they are calling people back who got here after we did. I serious doubt they know how to prioritize patients. I shall never come here again!

My son was in icu trauma, he fell 100 ft while at work.broke pevies,broke hip,spleen remove,and broke ribs.he had surgery on all of these,they released him straight from icu because he was on worker comp.his kidneys and bowels was not acting BP high oxygen level low.but the Dr's still released him without any meds.it took five nurse to put him in my truck and he was screaming in pain.we had to travel over 500 Mikes with him in pain. When I asked drs about all the staples he had in him he laughter and said he can take them out his self.I have work in the medical field all my life I have never seen anything like it.uab your drs need to go back to medical school if this is birmingham best I don't want to see there worst.there will be a law suit file against them .as of this time my son is in anought hosiptal in icu.

After the insurance paying several hundred thousand dollars, they are now billing for telephone, television and other amenities. I don't think a trauma patient that is unconscious most of the time needs either and I know was never asked. I suppose they could put a birdbath and birds in the room they would bill for that also. They are milking everything they can from Blue Cross and trying to do the patient's the same way. I'm sure many medical bankruptcies have started at this facility and others like it.
I do believe that ethics are nonexistent here.
I will admit the care received while there was good. When you are discharged, that's when the corporate greed really kicks in.

Simply to worst service of any ER I've ever been to. I refuse to ever go near this ER ever again. I question the ability of the staff to properly analyze the needs of someone in the ER. The person that I'm with suffers from a debilitating disease and was told my two doctors to go to the ER because she can't function. Yet 8+ hours later we are still waiting. This after leaving yesterday after over 4 hours and not seeing anyone. Completely and utterly lacking customer service at any level of acceptable and far inferior to any ER that I've been to. I'd recommend going anywhere else.

Nasal surgery here. Not one complication. Had an new doctor in training and he heard something someone said to me and came back to check if their was a problem traveling home. I appreciate his ability to recognize the problem areas when people need to change. 2000something good was happening with new doctors and nurses who have been working on aftercare today.

I am not writing for a hospital ad or an insurance company. My step-daughter was bitten by a brown recuse spider. She went to an emergency room in Pickens Co. She went to an emergency room in Tuscaloosa Co. She saw probably 8 different doctors. One sent her home with anti's and another took her off of them. One cut her which probably spread the toxins. After her condition kept getting worse we were referred to UAB by social media. Not by a Doctor. They basically did everything possible to save her life. She was going into septic shock. She turned yellow. She was dying. They gave her 6 blood transfusions and brought in every specialist they had. If you just need some pain meds I would suggest somewhere else. If my life were on the line, this would be my first choice. If not for UAB she would not be here today. All these bad reviews about waiting. Well at least your are alive to tell it. A plus in my book.

If you are going there because of workmans comp you might as well go some where else. They DO NOT care if you are in pain, they do what's best for the workmans comp. They send you to redo test that you have already done just to waist time. Dr. Turnley will ask you questions about your case which is none of her business. They only care about making workmans comp happy not their patients. She shouldn't even be a doctor.

My grandma was transferred to uab hospital by ambulance and Jackson hospital couldn't find out was wrong with here and was treated with kindness and respect thanks to uab hospital they saved my grandma live

My 18 yr old son went by ambulance to UAB for a manic episode. His daily medicine was not working properly. He is bi-polar with schizophrenic symptoms (He sees and hears things not there). Before we could get to hospital they basically lost him. They sat him in the waiting room. He walked right out the front door. When we got there we were told they didn't know where he was. We found him on Highland ave by a dumpster at a store. It scares me to death what could have happened. Thank God ⬅He led me to him🕇. I know they can't watch everyone but when it's a psychiatric case don't put them alone by the door.
