The room itself was great. However the breakfast was not good at all. There was only muffins and bagels that weren't good.

Clean, really nice staff, price decent, parking and hotel felt safe. Breakfast was standard chocolate chip muffins good! Lots of cereal choices, sausage biscuits, toaster waffles, bagels ECT. Definitely if you need a hotel in Birmingham I would recommend booking this one with no worries. We drove to a couple other hotels in Birmingham and chose this one. We just slept here and had some down time then was headed to Mobile Al. to the cruise terminal from Iowa. It's about 15 minutes from this hotel to the University Hospital very little traffic Sunday afternoon. Probably longer thru the week. Have a great day and Happy Traveling!

I give this hotel no stars. I am very unhappy with this hotel.The lady at the front counter was nice but this is my first time in my entire life writing a review. Very Unhappy. I checked in around 2am after being up all day. Soon as I got in my room I had to use the bathroom, as I was using it I noticed there was no tissue in the bathroom at all (Good thing I had baby wipes). I then turned the shower on and before I can get in, the bathtub filled up with water while the shower was running. So what did I have to do? Turn the shower on and off ass I washed my self so the water wouldn't go above my ankles. I clearly didn't enjoy my shower. Then I go pull the covers back and check the sheets like most people would and it looks like the sheets HAVE NOT been changed. I saw crumbs, hair and something else that I wasn't sure what it was. So my son and I slept in the other bed. I'm glad I had double beds because I wanted to leave so bad (especially after paying $102) but I didn't feel comfortable doin that because it was 2:30am and it's me and my 3 year old. So I decided to be smart and think about our safety and just deal with wasiting $100. I will not stay here again.

I was greatly in need of a "get out of the house" night because of a death in the family. Just 2 nights before we'd stayed across the road at the Marriott Residence Inn for the same reason, and for the same exact price- but NOTHING ELSE was similar between it and the Microtel. Due to Homecoming at UofA and the Talladega Race, all rooms were scarce so we couldn't get another reservation there or at the Embassy Suites next door, so we decided that it didn't really matter since we just needed to get away. I understand that Microtel isn't comparable to the others mentioned (even though we paid the same, and we got soooo much more at the Residence Inn) but you should get what you are advertised to get and pay for. First off- the rooms ARE NOT SUITES. A tiny fake plastic divider by the beside table that attempts to make it look like two rooms is a joke. It's ONE room with dirty carpet, sofa andwell, you get the idea. I wish I'd taken a picture of some "gross substance" that had run down the side of the bed onto the bedskirt (we can all take a lovely guess at what that probably is, eww). Cable worked horribly, but it was Charter, and I get the same bad service with Charter at home, so that doesn't surprise me. IMO, just to to Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, or Residence Inn if they have availability.

Microtell inn and suites in hoover Al. Is very nice and clean hotel. Friendly staff, very good hot breakfast, 24/7 desk available. Anything you need they will provide you. I will definitely stay here again. I will recommend to everyone to stay at this hotel.

Clean room. Bed was comfortable and the location is nice. Couldn't hear traffic. When we went to the dentist to check in, the attendant want there and there was no bell. We had to flag someone down. After that though everything was great.

The shower head didn't work. We took it apart and fixed it. The fridge didn't work and the carpet around it was wet. Tiny space, as expected, but brand new - it all should have worked. The lady at the desk could have at least shown some interest when we shared these issues with her, for their next guest.

It's mostly a place to sleep. Rooms (at least room 216) could use a refresh. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Good economic choice, I suppose.

In just inquiring about the property and asking the front representative about the one star reviews. I started reading the review and she stopped before I finished the sentence. She was very abrasive in saying "Do you want the room or not?" I told her I was just inquiring about what I was reading and was totally rude and would not answer my questions. Therefore I told her because of her response I was not interested.

Runrun away!! Absolutely disgusting! The entire hotel is filthy looking. Stains on the floors in the elevator, dirty hallways. Our room was clearly not cleaned. The floor had not been vacuumed, everything was dusty. The bathroom floor was neither swept nor mopped and there is stuff all over the walls. The ac was completely off (in Mayin the South) so the room was miserable for the first hour.

Nice hotel for the price, clean and you also get the breakfast.
Microtel is budget hotel, so I was not expecting lot, I spent the night there during my drive, staff was friendly and room was clean. Queen bed was enough for one person , not sure how two people will feel in that room but as compared to other microtel hotels this one was better oneresponse / report this review
