The hotel is very dated. The beds are not very comfortable and only come with two small pillows per bed. It is a great place to stay overnight in NYC though due to it being fairly cheap.

I didn't know what to expect from our last minute hotel choice, but this hotel was great. They have an on site parking garage and there is a diner next door that has a great breakfast menu.

We stayed here for New York Comic Con weekend. At first, the room seemed fine for what we needed. Enough space, GREAT location. However, things took a turn for the worst after we spent the first night of our stay. We returned for our second night and realized that most of us have bug bites all over our arms and legs. After inspecting under the bed and along the walls, we realized the room was infested with bed bugs.
When we went to the front desk, the two men working said there was nothing they could do until the morning and there were no other rooms available. That's when we packed up all of our stuff and left that disgusting hotel room and ubered back to New Jersey. During the checkout process, neither employee was sympathetic whatsoever and wouldn't even get off their couch.
Now when we try to get a refund for our miserable experience, they keep dodging our calls, as well as the customer service team at Hotels . com.
DO NOT STAY HERE. Looking back, we should have spent a little more and stayed in a reputable hotel chain.response / report this review -

Good enough. Not too nice, no frills, but a good place to hang your hat at the end of the day when exploring Manhattan. Close to Times Square and tour bus routes.

Good classic overnight hotel stay. Great location by times square and not too expensive. Big room. Nice front desk staff. Didn't eat here so can't comment on food. But just a great stay overall.

Great hotel, rooms are very cozy and comfortable. The fridge was large and there was a full size mirror in the bathroom. The pool outdoor pool is very nice. Only thing they could add is a breakfast.

The Travel Inn was a good home base for our 4-day New York family trip. My husband and I usually prefer to stay away from the touristy areas; however, on this first trip to the City with our two younger sons, ages 10 and 12, we wanted to stay closer to the attractions in Times Square. It was a few blocks from there, and a bit closer than that from the closest metro station. Not bad!
The hotel room was very outdated and not spotless, but it was neat and clean enough. All the employees we talked to, both in the hotel and parking garage, were very nice and helpful. Speaking of the garage, it is located just outside the hotel and is seriously THE BEST PARKING RATE IN THE CITY. We paid $20 a day for parking, when we usually pay $40 or more a day. Plus, we got to drive our car into the garage and store our luggage in there, as well, after checkout (instead of checking our bags at the front desk). We didn't use the pool (too much to do in the City!), but it looked very nice from our hotel room.
Negatives: the TV remote didn't work (we should have asked for batteries?) + we only had three towels for four people (and had to ask for another set) + it's very close to the bus station
Overall, the hotel is a very good deal for its location, parking, and atmosphere. I would stay here againbut unfortunately one of the desk clerks told us they were planning to close in December because a new high-rise was going to be built there. What a shame!response / report this review -

The AC needs to be turned on sooner and the bathrooms werent the best, however I would 100% come back. Most affordable place to stay in NYC, easy access to Times Square, and right near the Lincoln Tunnel so not much driving in the city is needed.

I'll start with the positives: Inexpensive room and parking. Basic and fairly clean rooms. It ends there. Paper thin walls. Windows facing the street blocked zero noise so you get to enjoy the sounds of Times Square all night long! Hopefully your neighbors are courteous. Unfortunately for me and my family, ours were not. Up partying until 2am and the front desk didn't do anything about it. You will not be able to sleep here. Also taxes and fees are not included in the rate (unlike large chains which quote the total price online.) Anyways I won't be back. Not worth a dime if you can't sleep.

I have been staying at this hotel for the past 5 years while attending toy fair. Made my reservation in November. Arrived with reservation in hand and they had no knowledge of it. Turned me away for the first night of my 3 night stay. I had to get a room on a Saturday night in NYC , cost me 300.00 for 1 night. When I returned to the travel Inn for my 2 night stay they charged me 90.00 per night and said that was the best they could do. I expected them to comp the room. I budgeted 350.00 for housing. I spent 300.00 for 1 night elsewhere and 75.00 for parking for the first day when Travel Inn turned me away. This is there last year to be open as the building is being torn down. Good Thing?
