My favorite Italian restaurant in Charleston. Make sure you have the Warm Cauliflower Sformatino

Went for the family style menu offering and it did not disappoint. I think the price was 45$ per person for 4 courses. First course was appetizers which includes cannellini beans with mussels, roasted Brussels sprouts, cauliflower salad, and a meat boars. Second was a pasta with a tomato sauce and sausage. Third course was a potato puree with roasted greens topped with roasted pork cheek. Final course was a chocolate budino. All were fabulous!! They were even able to accommodate a member of our party who eats kosher.

Booked an 815p reservation for 7 people a week and a half in advance. Our full party arrived at the bar at 8p and began ordering drinks. There is only one table in the restaurant that seats over 6 people. At 8p this table was occupied by a group that was drinking coffee and eating dessert post-meal. The serving staff did an atrocious job turning the table and we ultimately left the restaurant (while the other party remained seated) without eating at 9p. Restaurant refused to comp even a single glass of wine. We went to Le Farfalle and had a far superior service experience. We won't be back to Trattoria Lucca.

A memorable experience. It is one of the greatest restaurant I have visited in the entire east coast.
The freshness and quality of the ingredients is truly amazing. Homemade pasta and dessert are out of this world.
    Service is attentive and professional.
It was a great pleasure being there.

We read the reviews and had personal recommendations, I sincerely believe that this is a very good restaurant but be careful on Monday. It is referred to as "no menu Monday" or family night, which to me means we are going to serve you whatever we have leftover after the weekend. They served us 4 courses , the appetizer was great , the pasta course was so-so and the main course was flat iron steak. Again my interpretation is that we slice it across the grain because it is tough. I have never ordered flat iron steak in an Italian restaurant because I do not consider it an Italian dish. Finally the dessert was a piece of cornbread on a cream source.
I am sorry to have to write this but we were there on the day of the eclipse (8/21) and this was our experience.

This is the best Italian I have experienced in Charleston. Our waiter Jonathan was amazing. Recited everything off their daily changing menu. Can't say enough good things about him. The food was light Italian fare using all fresh ingredients and impeccable. Can't go wrong here, five stars all the way.

5 stars all around! We were visiting Charleston and I accidentally made a reservation here thinking it was a different restaurant but we are SO glad I did. The server Scot was OUTSTANDING. He brought a wine that perfectly matched our meals. Even though it was packed (we picked up the last available reservation of 8:15pm) he took time to explain the appetizers and dishes. The food and desserts were Amazing. They put the rest of the restaurants we visited to shame. Well worth the prices.

A superb dining experience with chef Vedrinski. Phenomenal pasta dishes, Italian but, international finesse. Bravo!

Some of the best Italian food I've had. Not traditional but if you want more adventurous Italian offerings this is the place. Our server was very knowledgeable.

Absolutely outstanding. Exceeded expectations. Italian to the core. Pasta made daily in house. Selective menu changed frequently. Imaginative, superbly cooked. Excellent collection of Italian wines, including reasonably priced ones. Well informed efficient service people. Lovely room with well-spaced tables with small bar and community table. A great experience in every way.

Only had wine and appetizers, but the staff made us feel very welcome at the bar. Great food recommendations and conversation.
